The Algeria winger moves to the Turkish Super Lig club after a single season in Claret and Blue, having joined the Hammers from Spanish side Valencia in summer 2016.

He added further strikes in Premier League fixtures against Crystal Palace and West Bromwich Albion in Stratford before netting at Burnley in what turned out to be his final appearance for the Club in May.

Jean-Christophe Bahebeck - Utrecht (loan)

[article]Dutch club FC Utrecht have completed the signing of Paris Saint-Germain forward Jean-Christophe Bahebeck on a loan for the rest of the season.

The 24-year-old has spent multiple years on loan at various clubs including Troyes, Valenciennes, Saint-Etienne and the Italian club Pescara, so this won’t be an unfamiliar experience for the forward.

Utrecht Director of Football Jordy Zuidam said: “Jean-Christophe is a striker who knows how to play at the highest level. Although he is only 24, he has played for more than one club in Ligue 1 and Serie A and has also played multiple times in the Europa League.”

Jese Rodriguez - Stoke (loan)

[article]JESÉ RODRIGUEZ has today joined Stoke City on a season-long loan from Paris Saint-Germain, becoming the Club’s sixth signing of the transfer window.

The 24-year-old forward, a double Champions League winner with Real Madrid, completed the formalities of his loan switch this morning after successfully undertaking a medical.

He follows Darren Fletcher, Kurt Zouma, Maxim Choupa-Moting, Bruno Martins Indi and Josh Tymon in checking-in at the bet365 Stadium this summer.

Chief Executive Tony Scholes said: “Jesé was a man in demand when PSG made it clear they would allow him to leave on loan and we’re delighted he has chosen to join us.

“He hasn’t had the happiest of periods in his career in Paris but he’s still only a young man and is hungry to make a big impression in the Premier League.

Rodriguez spent nine seasons with Real Madrid, scoring 12 goals in 62 La Liga appearances, and was part of their Champions League winning squads in 2014 and 2016.

His progress was disrupted by a serious knee injury but last summer he completed a £22million switch to PSG.

However, he struggled to make an impact in Paris and spent the second half of last season back in La Liga on loan with Las Palmas.[/article]

Carlos Bacca - Villarreal (loan with option to buy)

[article]Villarreal have landed Colombian striker Carlos Bacca on loan for the season from AC Milan, replacing the departed Roberto Soldado who joined Fenerbahce last week.

Bacca, who signed for Milan in 2015 after two seasons at Sevilla, was the Serie A side's standout player during a disappointing season.

'The deal includes an option to buy the player once the campaign is finished,' Villarreal said in a statement.

Bacca has scored 165 goals in 336 games in his career, with 13 in 39 coming for Milan last season.

The 30-year-old completed his medical on Wednesday and told the club's website: 'I want to thank God for giving me the opportunity to arrive to a great club like Villarreal.

'I want to send a special salute to all the club fans.'

The Colombian started his football career playing for the Atletico Junior youth teams going on to play for Barranquilla, Minerven before moving to Europe in 2012 to join Club Brugge.

Bacca shone in the Belgium top flight, scoring 28 goals in 45 appearances in his only season to seal a switch to Sevilla. He will wear the No 9 at Villarreal.

Sergio Barila, the striker's agent, told ESPN: 'Bacca is in a situation where both he and his club are interested in looking at an option where he can play, be in a good league and La Liga is a very good offer.

'Any club that has been in the market for a player to score goals, of course they have monitored Bacca,' Barila added. 'He has been lucky to receive many offers this summer but he made it very clear to which club and which league he wanted to play in.

'He wants to go to a club that will count strongly on him. He wants to have a good season and arrive at the World Cup in Russia in the best possible way. Now we just hope that his future can be resolved as soon as possible.'[/article]

Joselu - Newcastle (reportedly £5 million)

[article]Newcastle United have completed the signing of forward Joselu from Stoke City.

The 27-year-old becomes the Magpies’ sixth summer signing, penning a three-year-deal with the club which will keep him at St. James’ Park until 2020.

He follows fellow new arrivals Christian Atsu, Florian Lejeune, Jacob Murphy, Javier Manquillo and Mikel Merino to the club, as manager Rafa Benítez further bolsters his squad.

Joselu began his career at Celta Vigo, coming through the ranks at the Balaidos before joining Spanish giants Real Madrid in 2009.

After a stint on loan back at Celta, he became a prolific goalscorer for Los Blancos’ B team – form which saw him make the step up to Real’s first team, where he scored on his debut against Almeria.

A move to German side Hoffenheim followed in 2012, and after a productive loan spell at Eintracht Frankfurt during the 2013/14, Joselu joined fellow Bundesliga side Hannover 96 in the summer of 2014.

His ten goals in 32 outings in his solitary season at Hannover earned him a move to the Premier League with Stoke in June 2015. In total, the Spanish frontman made 27 appearances for the Potters, scoring four times, and also netted four goals during his time on loan at Deportivo La Coruña last term.

“I feel very happy, because I have signed for a very big club. I’m very happy to be part of this club, and so excited,” said Joselu.

“I’m looking forward to getting to know my teammates, the city, the training ground, the stadium and all the supporters. I’m very happy to be here.”

Benítez added: “We have known Joselu since his days at the Real Madrid academy, and we know that he has the potential to do well for us.

“Obviously he has experience of English football and the Premier League and that was another thing we took into consideration. We think if we can exploit his full potential he will be a good signing for us.

“He knows and accepts the challenge we've given him at Newcastle United and he's keen to come and fight for a position in the team.”[/article]

Gylfi Sigurdsson - Everton (reportedly £45 million)

[article]Gylfi Sigurdsson has vowed to “create goals” and “score goals” for ambitious Everton after completing his Club-record move to the Blues on a five-year deal from Swansea City.

The 27-year-old midfielder is Everton’s eighth new signing of the summer and, after penning a contract until the end of June 2022, has been hailed as one of the Premier League’s best players by his new manager Ronald Koeman.

The 6ft 1in Iceland international spent the past three seasons with Swansea and was directly involved in 21 Premier League goals last term. He also covered the greatest distance covered by any top-flight player during the season – 433 kilometres – and has been directly involved in 53 league goals since the start of 2014/15 – second only as a midfielder to Tottenham’s Christian Eriksen.

Everton boss Koeman was thrilled to capture one of his prime targets, who he believes will add “productivity” to his ambitious team.

And Sigurdsson is eager to deliver what his new manager is looking for.

“Hopefully I will continue to create goals and score goals for the team and contribute to the kind of success we’re seeking at the Club,” Sigurdsson told evertontv.

“This is an ambitious club and it is clear we are moving in a really good direction. The most important thing is that this team keeps winning games and climbing the table - and does that throughout the season.

“For myself, I would like to score as many goals as possible and create as many goals for my teammates as I can. These are my targets.

“But it is always the same thing: as long as the team is winning I will be more than happy.”

Sigurdsson also acknowledged that the prospect of working under Koeman – twice a European Cup winner as a player – further fuelled his desire to play for Everton.

“He was a great player, one of the top players of his time,” said Sigurdsson. “Now he is a really good manager and his vision for Everton is clear. He has built up a really good squad here, with strong players, both young and experienced.

“This was a key factor for me. Ultimately, that is a dream of mine and everyone at this Club. I know the supporters and players would agree with that.”

Koeman was delighted to land a player he revealed had been in his sights for some time.

“I’m really happy because the Board and especially our Chairman, Bill Kenwright, did everything to get him. It took some time but finally we have signed the player,” Koeman told evertontv.

“In my opinion, in his position he is one of the best in the Premier League. We have the player here and that’s really good for the team.”

Born in Reykjavík, Sigurdsson began his youth career in his homeland with Fimleikafélag Hafnarfjarðar (FH) and Breiðablik UBK, before moving to English shores to join Reading as a 16-year-old.

He signed for 1899 Hoffenheim in 2010, with fans voting for him as their Player of the Season, before he joined Swansea on loan on New Year’s Day 2012.

But a permanent transfer to the Swans collapsed and Tottenham Hotspur swooped. He spent two seasons at White Hart Lane, scoring eight goals in 58 top-flight appearances, but then re-joined the Swans for a second spell. He was named the Swans’ Player of the Year in both 2015/16 and 2016/17, his displays establishing him as a firm fans’ favourite at the Liberty Stadium.

On the international stage, the midfielder starred for Iceland as they reached the quarter finals of Euro 2016. He has amassed 50 caps for his country.[/article]

Giovanni Simeone - Fiorentina (reportedly €15 million plus add ons up to €3 million)

The Argentine has put pen to paper on a contract running to June 2022.

Last season was his first in Serie A and he scored 13 goals in 36 games for Genoa.

He is the son of Atletico Madrid Coach and Argentina legend Diego Simeone.[/article]

Rui Fonte - Fulham(undisclosed fee)

[article]The Club is delighted to confirm the signing of Sporting Clube de Braga captain Rui Fonte for an undisclosed fee.

The 27-year-old has signed a three-year deal, with a Club option to extend by a further 12 months.

Comfortable playing as a number nine or in a wider position, Fonte already has two goals to his name from his four Braga appearances this season. He netted the winner in their 2-1 league victory over Portimonense, while he was also on target in a UEFA Europa League Qualifier against AIK Solna.

Fonte joined Braga permanently last summer following a successful loan spell, and he ended the season with 11 goals from 24 league starts, making him comfortably the club’s top scorer as they finished fifth in the Primeira Liga.

After coming through the academy at Portuguese giants Sporting Clube de Portugal, Fonte’s first stint in England saw him join Arsenal as a teenager, where he went on to make his professional debut in a 3-0 FA Cup victory over Wigan Athletic in November 2008.

The younger brother of West Ham United defender and European Championship winner Jose Fonte, he joined his sibling at Crystal Palace for a 10-game loan spell later that season, giving him a first taste of Championship football.

In the summer of 2009 Fonte returned to his homeland with former club Sporting Lisbon. He took in loan spells with Vitória Setúbal and Espanyol, before making his move to the latter permanent.

Fonte was back in Portugal by January 2013 when he signed a deal with Benfica, for whom he scored in the Final of the Taça de Portugal, the country’s domestic cup competition, as they beat Porto on penalties.

Capped by Portugal at youth level from Under-16s upwards, Fonte scored eight times in 22 appearances for their Under-21 side. He has been called up for the senior team in the past, but is yet to win a full cap.

Speaking to fulhamfc.com after putting pen to paper Fonte expressed his delight having completed the move: "I am very happy and very excited to sign for Fulham, this is an amazing challenge. Fulham is a massive club and I’m looking forward to it.

"I wanted to say a big thank you to Braga who took me in as family and I’m thankful to all the staff and fans for their support during my time there."

Tony Khan commented: "Rui Fonte is a substantial talent, and I'm thrilled to welcome him to the Fulham Football Club.

"We have been interested in Rui for a long time. We have great aspirations for the future of this club, and today we have taken another step towards realising them by adding a striker known for his immense skill and selfless teamwork. COYW!"[/article]

Blaise Matuidi - Juventus (reportedly €20 million + add ons up to €10.5 million)

[article]Juventus can today confirm the arrival of midfielder Blaise Matuidi from Paris Saint-Germain. The French international, 30, has signed an three-year deal at the club until 30 June 2020.

As a point of departure, with four Ligue 1 titles, five Super Cup crowns, four League Cups and three French Cups, there can be no doubting Blaise Matuidi’s pedigree in terms of silverware and experience at the highest level of the game.

The 30-year old, most commonly deployed as one of three central players for former club PSG in six successful seasons in the French capital, now arrives at Juventus into a system that may well suit his combative, tactical and intelligent midfield qualities down to the ground.

An alumnus of the famed Clairefontaine academy and a first-team regular wherever he has been since making his debut for ESTAC Troyes as a 17-year-old, the France international meets all the criteria of the modern all-round midfielder: strong in the tackle, accurate in his distribution and equally as capable in the final third as in defence.

Starting his career as a predominantly defensive-minded player at Troyes and then Saint-Etienne, a club he represented as captain at the age of 21, Matuidi’s transfer to Paris in the summer of 2011 marked the beginning of a radical transformation in the Frenchman’s play, simultaneously launching him into the public eye.

Few people knew much about PSG’s number 14 at the time despite his consistency for Les Verts previously but the decision of then coach Carlo Ancelotti to hand him a more dynamic role in midfield ensured that would not be the case for long.

Given the license to hunt down possession and launch his team forwards on winning the ball back, Matuidi ended his second campaign in Paris with a hereto unbeaten tally of eight goals (in all competitions), a key contribution in returning the Ligue 1 trophy to the capital for the first time in 19 years.

From then, the left-footed enforcer, nicknamed Marathon Man for the sheer volume of work he commonly gets through over 90 minutes, would find the ideal role that combined his uncanny timing of the tackle and explosive athleticism to become an indispensable figure at the Parc des Princes.

In the ensuing seasons, marked by consecutive league titles, valuable Champions League experience and increased goal scoring contributions (34 strikes in 295 PSG appearances), the sight of Matuidi regaining possession and then sending his team on the attack at lightning speed became common fare.

Remarkably given his all-action style, France Football 2015’s player of the year's unrelenting energy levels mean that he has appeared more than 50 times in every season since 2012/13.

Meanwhile for Les Bleus, Matuidi has clocked up 52 international caps, scoring eight goals in the process.

Expect to see plenty of him in black and white in the coming campaign.

Bienvenue, Blaise![/article]

Davinson Sanchez - Tottenham (reportedly £42 million inclusive of add ons)

[article]We are delighted to announce that we have reached agreement with AFC Ajax for the transfer of Davinson Sanchez subject to medical and work permit.

The Colombia international, 21, has signed a contract with the Club until 2023.

The defender moved to Ajax from Colombian club Atletico Nacional in June, 2016 and made 47 appearances for the Dutch side, scoring seven goals.

Sanchez won Ajax’s ‘Rinus Michels’ Player of the Year Award in his only season at the Club, which was previously won by Jan Vertonghen in 2012 and Rafael van der Vaart in 2002.

He made his professional debut for Atletico Nacional aged 17 and was part of their Copa Libertadores winning side in 2016.

Having represented his country at Under-17, Under-20 and Under-23 levels, Sanchez made his senior Colombia debut in November, 2016 and has made two appearances for the national side.

Davinson said: "I would like to thank the coach, management, players and fans of Ajax. It is a great move for me to come here to develop my career.

Steve McClaren - Maccabi Tel Aviv (Coaching Consultant)

[article]Steve McClaren is set to strengthen Maccabi Tel Aviv’s coaching staff after the 56-year-old former England Manager agreed to take-up a coaching consultant role at club.

McClaren, who managed England during the EURO 2008 qualifying campaign, will re-join Jordi Cruyff who was a player under him during their time at Manchester United when McClaren was Alex Fergusson’s assistant between 1999-2001.

Maccabi’s owner Mitch Goldhar, told the clubs’ official website: “Steve McClaren has a wealth of knowledge and is vastly experienced at the highest levels of European football. We are delighted to add a person of his calibre to our staff on a coaching consultant role as we are all sure he can contribute to Maccabi Tel Aviv’s coaching and playing staff”.

McClaren, who watched Maccabi’s Toto Cup victory over Hapoel Ra’anana and was present at the opening league match against Beitar Jerusalem in Netanya, added: “It’s a pleasure to start working with Jordi at his new role as coach at Maccabi from his previous one as Sports Director. I have known him since the time we spent together at Manchester United and we have been in touch over the past couple of years. I have huge respect for such a well known club both in Israel and in Europe and i intend to help Jordi and the players achieve success for the fans this season”.

Prior to the England job, McClaren won the League Cup with Middlesbrough in 2004 and after his spell as manager of the Three Lions which saw him held to a 0-0 draw by Israel at Ramat Gan before recording a 3-0 victory at the return fixture at Wembley stadium, McClaren, moved to Holland to coach Twente. In his first season at Twente, McClaren guided the team to the runners up spot and Cup finalists only to better that achievement the following season with a first league title for Twente in 2010.

Spells as Manager of VFL Wolfsburg, Nottingham Forrest and a second stint at FC Twente, saw McClaren return to Pride Park to the club he played for and made his first managerial footsteps before manging Newcastle United in 2015 and returning once again to manage Derby County in 2016.

Chris Wood - Burnley (reportedly £15 million)

[article]Burnley Football Club is delighted to confirm the signing of striker Chris Wood from Leeds United for a club record fee.

The New Zealand international joins the Clarets on a four-year deal to become manager Sean Dyche’s sixth new signing of the summer transfer window.

Wood, 25, arrives at Turf Moor after finishing as leading scorer in the Championship last season with 27 goals for the Yorkshiremen.

He also scored on the opening day of the current season before ending a prolific two-year stay with Leeds, which brought him 44 goals in 88 games towards a career total of 101 goals in 293 club appearances.

And Wood’s move to Burnley for an undisclosed fee means a long-awaited return to the Premier League following earlier brief spells in the top flight with West Bromwich Albion and Leicester City.

“My ambition has been to play in the Premier League for years,” Wood told Clarets Player HD.

“I’ve had tastes of being in there but I’ve never had the chance to give it a proper bash.

“Coming here I feel I’ve got a proper opportunity to do that. I’ve never started a Premier League game and this what I want to do.

“This is a club that wants to stay in the Premier League for years to come and it’s going that way.

"The squad has done fantastically over the last couple of years to put themselves in the position they are now.

“There have been some great additions this summer, which I’m sure has given everyone an added boost, to move forward and cement us as a Premier League team and looking on further up the league.

“The manager has given me a lot of confidence and backed me to bring me here, which is what you want.

“I’ve still got a lot of good years ahead of me. I’ve got lots of ambitions to achieve in the future. I’ve got goals and dreams that I want to achieve and it starts here.”

Wood helped both West Brom and Leicester win promotion to the top tier, going up alongside Burnley in 2014 as the Foxes finished as Championship winners.

He also claimed a League One title-winner’s medal from a successful loan spell at Brighton during 2010/11, which came in between loan stays in the Championship with Barnsley, Birmingham, Bristol City and Millwall.

Auckland-born Wood has scored 20 times in 52 appearances for New Zealand and, as well playing in the 2010 World Cup as an 18-year-old, became the youngest captain of the ‘All Whites’ when he led the side for the first time in November, 2014.

Wood is eligible to play for Burnley in the Carabao Cup after being an unused substitute in Leeds’ opening-round win over Port Vale and will be available for Wednesday night’s second-round tie at Blackburn Rovers.[/article]

Nikola Kalinic - AC Milan (loan with obligation to buy)

[article]After coming back from the pre-season tour in China, our CEO, Marco Fassone, had promised: “We will continue working on new signings, but there is no rush”. No sooner said than done: Nicola Kalinic is AC Milan’s new forward. Here is the official statement:

AC Milan are delighted to announce the signing of Nikola Kalinic from Fiorentina ACF on a loan deal with obligation to buy. The player has penned a 4-year contract through to 30 June 2021.

Since his arrival in Italy, Kalinic has scored 33 goals in 83 appearances. Numbers that speak for themselves, with the Croatia international who has bagged an average of one goal every 2/3 games, figures that make him a solid striker in the Serie A and certainly an added value to his team. Kalinic’s movements on and off the ball make him a real threat inside the box – his natural habitat –, with remarkable shooting abilities, especially with his right foot, and impressive aerial skills. The 29-year-old (187 cm/80 Kg) joins AC Milan at the peak of his career, having also plenty of experience at an international level, including a defeat in the Europa League final, in which he opened the scoring with a header.

Born in the town of Solin, in 1988, the Croatian striker began his career at Hajduk Split. He scored his firsts goals as professional wearing the jerseys of Pula Staro Cesco and Sebenico, where he played on loan. Following his return to Hajduk, where he remained until the 2008/09 season, Kalinic showed his ability to compete at the highest level and delivered his first significant performances in the European scene. He then joined Blackburn Rovers, and after a two-year stint in the English Premier League, he signed for the Ukrainian side Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk, where he soon found a regular starting berth and went on to become the leader of his team over the 5-year period playing in Ukraine. Nikola scored many goals in all competitions and even made his debut in the Champions League. In August 2015, his Italian adventure started on the banks of river Arno where he joined Fiorentina making his debut, of all team, against AC Milan, in a 2-0 win for the Viola. Last season – his second one in Serie A – he scored 15 goals in 32 appearances. In his international career, Kalinic has gone through every youth category before making it into the senior national team. He recorded his first major appearance for Croatia in 2008 playing as a sub in the 1-0 win over Moldova. He took part in the last European Championships in France, scoring a goal and making an assist in the 2-1 victory against Spain in the group stage.[/article]

João Cancelo - Inter Milan (loan with option to buy for reportedly €35 million)

[article]João Pedro Cavaco Cancelo is a new Inter player. The Portuguese moves to the club on loan until 30th June 2018 with an option to make the deal permanent.

Born on 27th May 1994 in Barreiro, Setubal, Cancelo developed at the Benfica academy which he joined at the age of 13. In the 2013/14 season, he made his debut for the first team in the Primeira Liga and the Portuguese Cup, making a contribution as the Águias won both trophies. In the summer after the season, he was loaned to Valencia.

During three years spent in Spain, Cancelo made 91 appearances and scored four goals in all competitions as he played an important role for Valencia on the right flank. He was able to play well both at full-back and as a winger, showing great physical and technical ability.

With the Portuguese national team, he represented every youth side from Under-16 level and he took part in the Under-21 European Championships in both 2015 and 2017. Wesley Hoedt - Southampton (reportedly £15.4 million)

[article]Southampton Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Dutch international centre-back Wesley Hoedt, from Lazio.

The sought-after 23-year-old today put pen to paper on a five-year contract at St Mary’s, becoming Saints' third arrival of the summer.

Hoedt, who began his career at AZ Alkmaar in his home country, moved to Lazio in 2015, going on to establish himself as one of the top young talents on the continent.

He made his senior international debut earlier this year and has since become a regular fixture in the Netherlands squad.

Vice Chairman (Football) Les Reed said: “Wesley is one of the most promising young defenders in Europe and represents a significant addition to our squad. Having procured a Champions League finalist from one Italian club we have now added an Italian Supercoppa winner from another.

“We believe he has all the qualities to play a big part in our future, and we have worked hard to bring him to Southampton, with a number of other high-profile clubs interested in him.

"Finding a top quality central defender is difficult in the current environment and now we have six internationals in this position, both young and experienced.

"Finding a naturally left-footed player is even more difficult. We have been tracking central defenders on our target list for the past 12 months and Wesley has always been at the top of that list, so it was important to act when the opportunity came.”

“Wesley has proven his talent through his performances for Lazio, as well as the Netherlands, and we believe he can develop even further here at Southampton, alongside his international teammate Virgil van Dijk, as well as the likes of Jack Stephens, Maya Yoshida, Jan Bednarek and Florin Gardos.

“With Wesley joining those players, we believe we have the right amount of quality, depth and flexibility at centre-back to help us achieve our aims this season.”

Wesley Hoedt commented: "I'm really happy to be here. I think Southampton is a really big club, so it's a good next step for me to come here and to play in the Premier League and try to help the best I can."[/article]

[article]Indian Super League side Kerala Blasters have signed former Manchester United and Tottenham striker Dimitar Berbatov.

From there he has gone on to play for Fulham, Monaco and PAOK Salonika.

Abdelhamid Sabiri - Huddersfield (reportedly £1 million)

[article]Huddersfield Town has completed the signing of attacking midfielder Abdelhamid Sabiri from 2. Bundesliga side 1. FC Nürnberg for an undisclosed fee.

The 20 year-old has put pen to paper on a three-year contract with the Terriers running until the summer of 2020, with the Club having the option of a further year’s extension at that point.

Sabiri, who was born in Morocco but has dual German nationality, predominantly plays in the ‘number 10’ position just behind the central striker but can play in the wide attacking areas too.

He burst onto the scene at his former club in the second-half of last season, netting five goals in just seven starts in the German second tier.

Abdelhamid will wear the number 11 shirt at Huddersfield Town.

Huddersfield Town Head Coach David Wagner commented:

“I’m very happy that we have been able to add Abdelhamid to our squad in this summer window; he is one of the most exciting talents from the German leagues. We needed another natural ‘number 10’ in our squad and he gives us a good option in all the attacking midfield areas.

“Abdelhamid made a big impression in Germany with his performances for Nürnberg in the second-half of last season. The number of goals he has scored from his position is very impressive, which comes from good football intelligence.

“When I have talked to him, I have been very impressed by how desperate he is to join our club and prove himself at Premier League level. This was a big factor in our negotiation.

“He is still learning the game and his space to develop is huge. If he works hard, like I expect him to do, he could be a high-quality player for this Club. We will give him all the support he needs to help him become the best player he can be.”

Born on 28 November 1996, Sabiri came through the youth system at SV Darmstadt 98 in Germany; one of Town Head Coach David Wagner’s clubs during his playing days.

However, he played his first senior football for regional club Sportfreunde Siegen in the fifth tier of German football in the 2015/16 season. That spell was a great success; Abdelhamid netted 20 goals and grabbed six assists in just 29 starts and four substitute appearances.

His form unsurprisingly attracted the attention of clubs higher up the football pyramid in the country and Abdelhamid joined 1. FC Nürnberg in 2016, initially playing for the second team.

Another 12 goals and six assists in just 19 starts for the second team in Germany’s third tier earned him a promotion to the Club’s First Team in January 2017 and he made headlines in the 2. Bundesliga, scoring five times in seven starts and two substitute appearances
towards the end of last season.

Sam Clucas - Swansea (reportedly £16.5 million)

[article]SWANSEA CITY ARE DELIGHTED TO ANNOUNCE THE SIGNING OF HULL CITY MIDFIELDER SAM CLUCAS.

The 26-year-old arrives at the Liberty Stadium for an undisclosed fee.

Clucas has signed a four-year contract at the Liberty Stadium and goes straight into contention for Saturday’s Premier League trip to Crystal Palace.

The Lincoln-born player did not feature for Hull at Queens Park Rangers last weekend because of speculation surrounding his future.

But Clucas has already appeared three times in the Championship this season, and returns to the Premier League having shone in the top flight last term.

He played in all but one of Hull’s league games in 2016-17, emerging as one of the leading lights in what ultimately was an unsuccessful survival fight.

At 6ft 2in, Clucas will bring considerable presence to Paul Clement’s midfield along with energy, technical quality and an eye for goal.

He had attracted interest from a number of top-tier clubs following Hull’s relegation having impressed many with his displays last season.

Clucas took an unusual path to the highest level. A striker who was on the books at Leicester City as a youngster, he looked set to miss out on a senior professional career having been cast aside by the Foxes at the age of 16.

But after spending time in the Glenn Hoddle Academy, Clucas landed a moved to Hereford United – who were then in the fifth tier – in 2011.

He moved to League Two with Mansfield in 2013, then to League One when he joined Chesterfield in 2014.

Hull gave him the chance in the Championship in 2015 and, after promotion the following spring, Clucas earned a crack at the Premier League.

He has taken every step up the ladder in his stride, scoring goals in each of the five divisions in consecutive seasons.[/article]

Stephen Kingsley - Hull (undisclosed fee)

[article]The Tigers have completed the signing of defender Stephen Kingsley from Swansea City for an undisclosed fee.

23-year-old Kingsley, who can play as a left back or centre back, has agreed a three-year deal with the Club having the option of extending that by a further year in the future.

Kingsley made 17 Premier League appearances for the Swans after joining the club from Falkirk in June 2014, and has been capped once by Scotland having also represented his country at U18, U19 and U21 level.

After completing the move to the KCOM Stadium, Kingsley said: “I’m delighted to get the deal done. It’s come around quite quickly but I’m just delighted it’s got over the line now and I can’t wait to get training in the morning.

“It’s time for me to really kick on now and get plenty of games at a very competitive level like the Championship.”[/article]

Jon Toral - Hull (reportedly £3 million)

[article]The Tigers have signed midfielder Jon Toral from Arsenal for an undisclosed fee.

22-year-old Toral joins on a three-year deal which includes the option to add a further year.

Since joining the Gunners, he has enjoyed loan spells with Brentford, Grenada, Glasgow Rangers and most notably Birmingham City, where he won the Player of the Season and Goal of the Season awards in 2015/16.

Speaking after signing for the Tigers, Toral said: “This is a massive move for me, the biggest so far in my career, and I can’t wait to get started.

“I’m really happy to be here. I have experienced playing in the Championship before and it is a league that I enjoyed playing in. I want to use that experience now and to help this team achieve its aims.”

Toral will wear the number 11 shirt and is available for selection for Friday night's game against Bolton Wanderers.[/article]

Sergi Samper - Las Palmas (free transfer)

[article]Las Palmas have confirmed the signings of midfielders Sergi Samper and Alberto Aquilani.

Samper arrives on a season-long loan from Barcelona, although Las Palmas do not have an option to buy the 22-year-old.

The Blaugrana youth product spent last season at Granada, making 23 appearances for the Andalusians prior to their relegation from La Liga.

Joining Samper at Gran Canaria is Aquilani, who joins on a free transfer.

The 33-year-old has agreed a two-year contract with the islanders and will touch down on Saturday ahead of finalising his transfer.

Aquilani began his career at Roma, before moving to Liverpool in 2009 as a replacement for Xabi Alonso.

However, the Italian struggled with injuries and went on to play for Juventus, Milan, Fiorentina, Sporting CP, Pescara and Sassuolo.

He also played 38 times and scored five times for his country, representing them at the 2013 Confederations Cup and the World Cup a year later.

Both players will try to fill the gaps left by Roque Mesa and Kevin-Prince Boateng.[/article]
