I actually laughed out loud last night watching the match when he and Pascoe were having a conversation with their hands covering their mouths. We were 5 0 down at the time.

Yes, they insist on going through that ridiculous ritual, which is all the more ironic seeing as Rodgers can't stop revealing his tactical plans every damned day.

Am I the only who thinks that despite all this rage and anger, there's absolutely no way he's going to get fired? I just can't see it happening, unfortunately.
Im with you mate.
I really dont see him getting fired.

Middle of March we were top of points in Europe for 2015, Rodgers was tactical genius. What a difference a few months make. I'm torn on what to do now.

I don't think we've much to gain by keeping him.

He's not only bought badly, but made bad decisions even worse by refusing to play some of the signings at all - and we started with no strikers again yesterday.

There's no evidence of any system - clubs like Southampton and Swansea have one. If they sell a player they simply replace him and the system stays the same.

If you lose two great strikers, one to another club and the other to injury, and your system now doesn't work you didnt have a system at all. Particularly when nobody else can score when you do play them.

A managers job is to put players into circumstances that allow them to be successful - whether they are or not is down to the player. With Rodgers we've had Can, Ibe, Sterling, Markovic all played out of position. Our young players have been put in tough spots repeatedly by a manager who had options to play others instead.

Keeping up is going to simply prolong a media circus. I don't see what he can do from here that doesn't end with him getting sacked next season

We had no style of play and we were always back peddling because someone lost the ball either by being outmuscled or by being plain poor. We couldn't keep the ball at all. Everyone just had to apply pressure on us and we will give the ball back. Then they run half the length of the pitch with no resistence and we go onto panic stations mode. How does BR expect us not to concede I have no idea.

Since Villa, every match has been shite this way. No composure, no outlet, no idea, no drive, no bite. And BR has no idea how to fix it.

It already feels like its 25 years ago.
That's our biggest problem aswell. Stuck in this awe of our own history while other clubs and modern football just passes us by.

If Rodgers had performed anywhere near the standard we'd expect after coming 2nd last season, I'd agree.
But we gone backwards and he hasn't got a clue about what to do.
Pissed away transfer money and this identity he's talking about is missing big time.
No plan, no tactics, has lost the players and most of the fans. Its time to go.

P
I suppose views on his influence are subjective, mine is that he deserves credit.

The result was a good one last year.

I have a particular view on what we're the biggest factors and I think they were nothing to do with Rodgers.

This season pretty much confirmed it.

The amount of goals we scored from set pieces last season was unsustainable.

The refereeing decisions that went in our favour last was unsustainable.

We knew we didn't have Suarez. And we know expecting Sturridge to be fit for most of a season is unlikely.

And the lack of European football helped.

Those were the five biggest factors for me last season. None of them were present this season and we dropped 4 places.

Rodgers can't take credit for any of them. So he doesn't deserve any credit for last season. We were lucky.

I

I was more inclined to give him another year a couple months ago but the way the season has ended... he's done. The players have had their say.

I think this is why we lost as heavily as we did yesterday. It was a statement from the players.

It all boils down to what Rodgers "plan" is to get more out of the current crop, address the destructive slide & malaise that has set in and identify, attract & keep top talent.

If his answer is confusing & constantly changing tactics, clueless defending, a mediocre Spanish right back, Benteke, Ings, Sturridge's hammies and a lot of faith in James Milner to "be Steven Gerrard", then we're probably fucked.

I do think people forget how dreadful we were under Dalglish. We finished that season with 10 (ten!!) points fewer than this disgrace of a campaign.

I'm regretfully coming to this view too. Earlier in the season I said I'd keep him even without top 4 provided we sustained decent form right to the end of the season, but after some wishy-washy displays the abject Cup semi-final against Villa brought me to the edge of wanting him gone, and the addition of that disgraceful capitulation against Stoke has pushed me over it.

I'd like to feel your confidence, Ryan, but I just can't see them getting rid of him. Hope I'm wrong.

I don't think FSG will sack him either.

"Too Little Too Late" is our club corporate motto. I think 2017 is when he'll finally go.

I think that's where I'm probably at too.

The last two games have been beyond horrendous.

Up to the Man Utd game, I was all for him - that was a desperately bad performance and things have got progressively worse since.

I could give him some slack for not being anywhere near last seasons standard- because there are mitigating circumstances.

However, despite this, we probably should have made top four - I said a while back that we needed to hit about 72 points - and after the results against Spurs, Southampton & Man City we'd created a situation were it was actually possible.

We did the hard work, got the momentum going - then just flopped like a flaccid cock after too much excitement.

That cock was in Rodgers hand.

I know I've probably ruined a few lunches now with that image.

On the contrary, I like chipolatas.

I'm annoyed at him. I find myself liking a Rosco post because of his season end. It's just not good.

There's just no way he can stay now. He's a wounded animal. The players have moved on. FSG should too.

Keeping him wastes another season.

As a sidebar - FSG must be asking how then feck they can make money in this black hole of a business model

It was Fsg that had this vision of bringing in a young hungry manager.
The shortlist was Martinez and Rodgers so hardly inspiring.
Henry was seen walking around boardwalks drinking Coffee and eating Ice cream with both.
It was like an episode of Britain's got talent at times.
The winner was who could talk the most shite.
They made their bed and all that.
All this whilst flying a club legend and proud man out to Boston to sack him.
I've no doubt they have the balls to sack Rodgers but it should be noted that they 100% hired him.

They stole us for a few quid and will sell us for a billion. All this bit in the middle doesn't even matter.
