January transfer window

Goalkeeper and DM..

Are absolute musts. .

Recall Markovic and send Ibe out on loan. .

Only because I think a new manager could get something out of the fella and help him realise his potential

I think Markovic has talent so his recall might be worth a try, but I wouldn't be sending Ibe anywhere.

Insignificance: I'm sure Klopp will too, but I'm equally sure he'll see some immediate gaps and want us to fill them in January, and so we should.

John Barnes said he thought January would have been a better time to bring Klopp in. I disagree. He now has time to evaluate the players at his disposal (don't take that word literally) and then decide on who he wants for January (urgent) and who next Summer (less urgent). One thing is for sure though .. players like Reus and Hummels will not follow Klopp just because he's Klopp, the same issues we have had with players like Sanchez will still apply.

It's a tricky one for Klopp as he needs to show the owners that he can utilise the players we have better than Rodgers did but he also isn't a fan of having players in positions their not comfortable with (I assume this by his comments on Kagawa at Utd). If he comes in this week though it should give him time enough to assess which players he can use and which to discard by January. I doubt he would have the scope or opportunity to bring in more than a couple of players in the January window though.
The defensive midfield position has needed strengthening since Mascherano left and neither Kenny nor Rodgers addressed it adequately.

My friend on the web team at Melwood sneaked me out this image on his 32gb Kingston High Speed Micro Data Traveller USB Stick. (He's very happy with his recent mobile data solution purchase). Anyway, the picture speaks for itself, he'll be playing for us come January. (Reus, not my mate)

Going in hard for Reus or Gundogan would be a massive disrespect to a club where he spent 8 years, where he built his name and where the fans still love him. I would actually like him a lot less for that.

Also it's a bit BR and suggests to me that he has limited imagination / relies on players that Zorc had picked for him.

I hope he gets a DM and GK, but only if there is a top prospect available. Every other position, we have the raw materials here already.

When he see's the state of our current DM, considering the way he likes his teams to play, he'll probably the first one replaced. It's arguably the weakest part of our team and has been since Mascher left.
Maybe another pacey player for the front row.

We should probably sign this Zorc bloke. He sounds like an alien so the lizards should get on with him.

It would have looked more convincing with a New Balance kit.

Like I've said before there are tons of other players in the Bundesliga we could steal.

I would be very surprised if he signs any attacking midfielders or strikers in January, we should have enough talented ones for him to work with for the time being. All other positions can definitely be considered for improvement, even at FB we are a bit short of depth.

I don't think he'll be signing anyone until the summer. I think it's gonna take him a while to assess the squad thoroughly.

Depends on who is available. Doubt he'll go after any Dortmund players.

We need a goalkeeper, centre back and central midfielder.
Wheter or not thats possible in January will be interesting to see.

I'd love Kramer, Bender, Goreztka or someone like that.
Timo Horn, Karius, Leno for the goalkeeper position.

If he finds Can as coachable as Gundogan and Şahin, we might not even need a CM. We have 5 senior CMs right now (6 including Rossiter) and there are only 2 places to fill in his system, although he does like to rotate. We do miss an Alonso type among our midfield options – a playmaker who is also defensively and positionally solid, but I have hope that Can can be coached into that role. Şahin and Gundogan improved a lot as defenders under Klopp and Can is more physically imposing than either of them.

However if it doesn't work with Can, I can see Klopp moving for Gündogan in the summer.

I reckon he'll sign a keeper first of all. I don't think you can coach a keeper that much so you've just gotta upgrade. Defenders and midfielders can be taught so might be given more of a chance.

Yeah but I doubt that a keeper will join in January. No one in their right mind would sell a first choice keeper mid season.
