And there we have it, liverpools transfer policy as we all know it. To be fair he is not needed and not worth the money. We need other areas addressing, it's fucking simple.

Because he won't be away for 6 weeks every two seasons mainly.
Also because he didn't fuck us over a few years ago.
There are discussions ongoing to reduce the AFCON to once every 4 years. It won't stop 2019 for sure but I don't know if the 2021 venue has been chosen. If not then it could be switched to 2023.

So when he's 31. That's great!

Reading between the lines, we are once again low balling.

We went in with a €30m offer - Roma wanted €45m

I'm guessing the next bit, however from previous experience we have probably structured a deal closer to €35m and submitted it - Roma not being impressed have come back and said they want €45m (you may see a Roma have rejected a second bid statement from Italy soon if this is true).

However in the mean time, leaked reports state that Roma will accept €40m. What we are scared of is that we offer €40m and Roma still come back and say they want €45m.

Just fucking pay it already. We low balled him once and lost him.

Are we low balling or just refusing to pay a price that's way over the odds. If we all know vvd is worth fifty mill and we keep pushing for forty, then yeh. But is Mo salah really worth 45 million euros? I don't think so
I think this will happen, and there's no harm
In haggling a touch. We're not citeh.

Having watched a majority of Roma's matches this season, and impressive as Salah was - I would not at all be gutted if we refused to pay over the odds for him and don't sign him.

He's a very talented player, but 35M would be the absolute MAX price we should be paying.

It's low-balling if you are quoted one price, but then go in at around 60% of the quoted price.

In 1976 due to mitigating factors the price of chips went mental. Once the potato shortage was sorted, did the price of chips come down?

The prices being touted are the new reality. If you want chips on your plate, pay the price or fill your plate with a less tasty carbohydrate or make your own.

Does anyone know how much a bag of chips actually costs? (this is not an attempt at some form of poignant rhetoric, it's a genuine question.)

Douglas Costa can be had for a rumoured fee of £30m. Sign him up I say. No worry about the ACON either

In your average chipper in Dublin its €2.50.
In a Chinese takeaway its about €1.80.
In McDonalds its €2.50.
In a fancy restaraunt like Shanahans they're €7.50.
In Fade Street Social the truffle fries are €6.

I think he was talking about the cost of sales. Rather than the turnover for the retailer.

Possibly so, but it depends on the asking price. If they ask a fair market price and we go in at 60% then yep. And we'll continue to lose players and then buy them after the move they should have made to us the first time around. I'm sure Keita is an example, but I could be wrong.
