Liverpool and Everton close in on Chesterfield youngster

Tendayi-Darikwa1.jpg

Chesterfield chief executive Chris Turner says the club are willing to listen to offers from Liverpool and Everton for midfield sensation Tendayi Darikwa.
Both Merseyside clubs are reportedly poised to launch a £2million bid for the 21-year-old winger, who scooped the League Two Young Player of the Month award for December.
Numerous Premier League sides have been tracking Darikwa and Turner has confirmed that Liverpool and Everton have sent scouts to watch the youngster.
"Tendayi is a fantastic talent and we would never stand in the way of a player from moving to a Premier League club," Turner said.
"A lot of top clubs have been tracking him for quite a while and it is no surprise - Tendayi is a player with exceptional potential who deserves to play at the very top.
"We had this situation with Jordan Bowery in the summer when he moved to Aston Villa - Chesterfield is a great place for young players to improve and show people what they can do.
"If a bid were to come we would of course sit down and discuss it."
Darikwa graduated from the Chesterfield youth set-up and signed a three-year contract in November.

And 2 mill in agent fees, but yeah cheap for a quality player.

Newcastle can probably field 11 Frenchmen now

great buy, it will be very interesting to see how newcastle do with all these new signings, i guess the important point is to see if they'll bring consistency to the side, i have my doubts. also are they scouting like exclusively french players? the scouts have been brilliant so i guess they sense something afoot in france

Manchester United have annouced they have indeed 'reached an agreement' with Crystal Palace over the signing of Wilfried Zaha, and he's having a medical today. All indications are that he'll be loaned back to Palace for the rest of the season.

Zaha will learn how to assist or score in the 90th minute now then

bet he is good, twat

I don't get why we didn't do this with Danny Wilson, he would've been a lot better off staying with rangers. I don't even think that needs the benefit of hindsight.

*I suppose it could have been down to wages and rangers not having a pot to piss in at the time.

Liverpool could snap up Tottenham's Alex Pritchard

Tottenham face a fight to hang on to talented youngster Alex Pritchard, who is the subject of interest from Liverpool.
Pritchard has caught the eye in Spurs’ development matches this year, notably in their remarkable 4-1 win at Barcelona in the NextGen Series, but has yet to break into Andre Villas-Boas’ first-team squad.
Pritchard turns 20 in May and with his contract running down, the attacking midfielder is weighing up his options. Alex Inglethorpe, who coached Spurs’ junior sides during six years at White Hart Lane, is now reserve team coach at Liverpool and retains an interest in Pritchard.
Pritchard will be offered a new deal but Standard Sport understands he is undecided about his future. Should he choose to leave, Spurs would be entitled to compensation because they have developed the player.
If the clubs could not agree on a fee, an independent tribunal would determine the sum for Pritchard. Meanwhile, Villas-Boas is reluctant to allow youngsters Andros Townsend and Tom Carroll to leave on loan this month and the pair could be involved in Sunday’s FA Cup fourth-round tie at Leeds.

Really Ath Madrid? Has he actually got better?

I watched a couple of games in last year's Europa League and I was very impressed.

Fuck knows if he'd be able to cut it here now, but he was ever-so-slightly beastly for Sporting in the matches I saw.

I remember starting a thread about whether people thought he would be world class someday.

My vote hasn't changed.
