I thought it might be a good idea for a separate thread for our loan players progress this season as it can get a bit lost in the youth players thread.
We will see how it goes.

Anyways, Ojo got an assistlast night as Swindon lost 2-1 at home in the League cup with all three of our players playing 90 mins. It's all about the experience for them I suppose. (Vigouroux saved a pen at the weekend)

Lloyd Jones has started 2 games for Blackpool, they've conceded 5 but they are a mess that he cannot fix it seems

Danny Ward has played every minute for Aberdeen, including 4 Euro games and has done well - 2 clean sheets in the league.

Ojo apparently played excellently.

Promising signs with him. He's gone under the radar compared to Sterling and Ibe, and even Wilson and Kent, but he's as promising as any of them.

Good idea; I think you've left out a couple. Jordan Williams played for Swindon in midfield in their cup loss, as did Kevin Stewart. So altogether, all 5 of our guys loaned to lower division clubs featured (those three plus Vig and Jones).

It's funny that Wisdom's not mentioned (albeit his is a loan to a Premier League club). I find it funny because he was somehow an afterthought for me (as well?) when I was checking if our lads played. And no, he didn't play for Norwich against Palace. Was on the bench though.

And no as well, Luis Alberto didn't play too, but his season hasn't started yet.

I have a mate who supports Aberdeen. He and his two boys are regulars at most of the home games and some of the away games, and they're all raving about Ward.

Scottish football is now a pretty abysmal standard, though, isn't it?

Michael Ngoo did OK at Hearts and he's struggling to even make it as a pro.

There are players regularly playing in the Scottish Premier who struggled in the 2 lower leagues in England! I would say Celtic would finish around the middle of the Championship but all the other teams in the SPL would struggle in the 1st division (old division 3) and wouldn't set the world alight in the 2nd division!

Andre Wisdom stayed on the bench for Norwich. The Canaries won 3-1 away against Sunderland

Sheyi Ojo played the final 16 minutes for Wolves. Home draw /1-1/ for his team.

Lawrence Vigouroux and Willams played another 90 minutes for Swindon.
The Robins won a point after trailing 0-2 away to Bury. Stewart started, but was substituted after 59 minutes by Anton Rodgers, who scored Swindon's leveller.

Lloyd Jones played 90 minutes for Blackpool, but his team lost 0-2 at home against Rochdale.

Good game for Danny Ward and his Aberdeen and a 3rd consecutive victory /1-2 vs. Motherwell/. If they win their game in hand, they will go joint top with Hearts.

They really rate Ward up there. I wouldn't be surprised if they bid to sign him on a permanent, the way things are going.

Luiz Alberto was an unused sub for Deportivo La Coruna in their opening game at home vs. Sociedad.

Likewise Andre Wisdom for Norwich in their home draw with Stoke.

Sheyi Ojo started for Wolves but was subbed off after sixty two minutes in their game v Cardiff City.

Swindon had an important away win against Southend. Clean sheet for Lawrence Vigouroux. Willams played 90 minutes for Swindon. 21 minutres for Stewart.

Lloyd Jones stayed on the bench for Blackpool, his team lost 0-2 away vs. Sheffield United.

Ward dind't concede goal and his Aberdeen won 2-0 at home vs. Dundee.

Liverpool have confirmed Harry Wilson has joined Crewe Alexandra on a youth loan.
The 18-year-old has agreed a temporary switch to the League One club until January.
Wilson, a regular for the Reds’ U21 side, is yet to make his senior bow for the club, but was included in the squad for the summer tour of Thailand, Australia and Malaysia.
The winger has already made his full debut for Wales, however, when he became the youngest player to ever represent his country as a substitute against Belgium in October 2013.
Wilson will wear the No.24 jersey at Crewe and is available for their league match at Wigan Athletic on Saturday.

Ojo started, scored, and got MOM for Wolves last night in their 2-1 Carling Cup win over Barnet.

[article=http://www.leytonorient.com/news/article/os-bring-in-maguire-on-loan-2653764.aspx#8ky9ZEyaTVPHIg1h.99]Leyton Orient have agreed a deal to sign defender Joe Maguire on a youth loan from Premier League side Liverpool.

The 19-year-old, who plays predominantly as a left back, but can play anywhere along the back four, has initially signed a one-month deal, with the option of an extension.

And Head Coach Ian Hendon is excited to be working with the youngster over the coming weeks.

“I know Alex Inglethorpe (Liverpool Academy Director) very well and we have seen him on a few occasions and heard a lot of good things about him, ” Hendon told leytonorient.com.

“It is a good opportunity for Joe to come and sample what League Two football is all about. We have heard a lot of good things about him and we are happy to bring him in and bolster our squad.

“He can play anywhere down the left hand side, but is predominantly a left back. He is coming here to fight for a place and he is up for the challenge so that shows what type of character he is.”

Maguire is available for tomorrow’s game against Bristol Rovers, and will wear the shirt number 20 during his time in E10. [/article]

Good. Feels like teams are mostly done with buying and are now working on loans to fill the gaps they can't cover with their purchases. What's happened to Kent's supposed loan move to MK Dons?

Sergi Canos has joined Championship side Brentford on loan, the Reds can confirm

On-loan Liverpool midfielder Kevin Stewart is back at Anfield after sustaining a medial ligament injury while on duty with Swindon.
Stewart, 21, is on a one-year loan at the County Ground alongside fellow Reds, goalkeeper Lawrence Vigouroux and defender/midfielder Jordan Williams.
The injury was sustained in the Football League Trophy victory against Newport on Tuesday and Swindon manager Mark Cooper says the two clubs will discuss the issue, with Stewart set to miss at least six weeks of action.
Brendan Rodgers was at Crewe’s Gresty Road on Saturday to see a Swindon side containing his son Anton send Crewe bottom of the league with a 3-1 win.

Ward seems to be doing very well at Aberdeen. Some quotes from their forum:

I'm already gutted that he'll be back down the road in the summer.

I don't see any reason why we can't extend his loan to another season. Unless a club like Athletico come knocking or something.

What a difference having a capable GK makes.

Danny Ward is probably the best goalkeeper in the world

If he stays fit all season, he could be the key, the secret.

At last, a keeper who can pass the ball and not just get rid of it.

At the end tonight he was brilliant, what a change to Langfield.

If we had Langfield we would have been coming away with a point today I think. The very last catch is one Langfield wouldn't come for 99 times out of 100.

Liverpool loanee Tiago Ilori's midfield performance for Aston Villa's U21s earns positive review
The 22-year-old was praised by coach Gordon Cowans after playing Monday's night's 2-1 win over Brighton in a defensive midfield role.

Aston Villa Under-21 manager Gordon Cowans has praised Liverpool loanee Tiago Ilori for his impressive midfield display in Monday night’s 2-1 U21 Premier League Division Two victory over Brighton & Hove Albion.

Cowans was speaking to AVTV after seeing Libor Kozak earn his side three points with a stoppage-time penalty at Walsall’s Banks’s Stadium, where Ilori played the full 90 minutes in a defensive midfield role.

The 22-year-old defender signed from Liverpool on deadline day on a season-long loan deal, with a view to a permanent move next summer, and is now expected to provide cover at centre-back for team captain Micah Richards, Joleon Lescott, Ciaran Clark and Jores Okore.

However, he is also capable of filling in at right-back or in midfield if needed, prompting Villa boss Tim Sherwood to compare him to Reds teammate Emre Can last week.

Sherwood happened to be watching the Brighton clash from the stands and, while it’s unclear whether it was he himself who wanted to see the Portugal Under-21 international further up the pitch, he will have left the ground impressed with what he witnessed from his latest signing.

“It’s apparently only the second time he’s played in that position,” said Cowans, who made 527 appearances in three separate spells at Villa. “The last time was in our friendly against Oxford [during the international break].

“He did very well then and tonight I thought he was very composed on the ball and calm. He uses the ball well and looks a good player.”

Born in London to an English father and Portuguese mother, Ilori joined Sporting Club de Portugal as a trainee in 2006 at the age of 13, before rising through the ranks to earn his first-team debut in November 2011.

The promising defender went on to make 14 total appearances for the Primeira Liga giants until sealing a £7 million switch to Liverpool in September 2013 but he is still to make his debut for the club, having spent the last two seasons out on loan at Spanish side Granada and French outfit Bordeaux.

He has remained a highly-regarded prospect on Merseyside, though, and plenty of supporters were none too pleased to hear that he could be leaving on a permanent basis next summer.

How much he will feature for Sherwood’s side this season remains to be seen but, thanks to impressive versatility, there is every chance he could get some decent playing time before long.
