Playing for the U23s anyway
Gomez and Solanke involved too.

Do we even want him back? That's what comes from being out for so long. You look at Trent and Gomez and surely you don't want them to go back to the ressies for a long time. Clyne's a good defender but out of the three he surely offers least going forwards. I'm glad he's getting back into contention, but I'm not sure I WANT him back.
Modo maintains that he's our best fullback? Anyone with half a brain would say that he's our best fullback.Yep, it's been a while too and the stories away from the pitch haven't done him any favours whatsoever. Modo maintains he's our best right back, but I'm not so sure after so long out and with a back injury. Those sort of injuries tend to have a lasting impact.
One thing is certain, however promising Gomez is, Klopp has rightly taken him out of the limelight for a bit (I know he's having niggles too), but he was making costly errors far too regularly.
He's not good going forward? Jesus Christ the flipflopping that's going on here?
Clyne hasnt been great going forward, I even posted a thread about it, but he's been one of our most consistent players.Eh? Who's been flipflopping? I've never been that much of a fan of his going forwards. He was better for Southampton, and should have been better for us, the way we play, but he's regressed. Anyway, "y'all" loved Lucas, so I'd shut up and show a bit of humility, fr once.
Drugs is bad kids.

Never saw Clyne make the same mistakes TAA and especially Gomez are making.
It's not hard to get the point if you bother to "think" about it. He's been out for a longtime, has had a severe back injury and doesn't have the benefit of a pre-season to get up to speed.
Anyone thinking he'll be starting games any time soon is kidding themselves. I'd understand the overreaction if it was a problem position. TAA and Robertson have been real plus points for us this season and for the first time in what feels like forever, we have a settled backline that's being breached far less than it was.
He's back, great, it adds to our depth, that's about as far as it will go for the rest of the season and rightly so.
Amazing how Carragher managed to inexplicably get brought up, it's borderline obsessive. Everyone else knows he's a legend, bar some idiot still pining for Luke from fucking Bedford.
Clyne has done nothing wrong but surely we would do well to move him to fund signings elsewhere and continue developing Trent and Gomez.

That’s approaching Modo-like level Ryan.Every time I see this thread title I start humming the rest of that god-awful Eminen song.
I'm sure no one else did, but now you all will, so ha!
Clyne is back
Back again

Yes he's back, yes he's back...

Clyne’s final ball was pretty shite though. And he’d often get a little panicked when he had the ball but would be under pressure when in attack. TAA looks way more confident in that regard. He’ll have to offer a whole lot in defense if he’s to justify his place in the team now. I mean for the general games where the fullbacks are expected to bomb forward and create. I’d still trust him way more than the young ‘uns for the big games against the quality attacks.I can't wait to see Clyne working down the right with Salah. In his absence he seems to have gotten worse in everyone's minds, which hasn't been helped by the fact that Gomez & TAA both have an excellent final ball on them.
Absence does makes the heart grow fonder. Clyne has always been solid in defence; in attack however he was often wasteful.
