Liverpool are set to face Atletico Madrid at Anfield for their final warm-up game before the 2009-10 season.
Fernando Torres' former club will arrive on Merseyside on Saturday, August 8 - a week before the new Barclays Premier League campaign gets underway.

The sides met twice in the 2008-09 Champions League, with both group stage clashes ending in a draw. Injury meant El Nino featured in neither.

Ticket details for the 3pm kick-off will follow.

I remember the time (think it was 2000, it was in Ged's time anyway) when Liverpool came over to Windsor Park to play a game with Benfica. Poborsky was booed pretty much the whole game because of his links with utd. How times have changed.

I think I went to that game, I definitely remember booing Poborsky.

Hopefully it'll be the first chance Sergio Aguero gets to play against his former team :)

This match is clearly part of the deal to bring Sergio to Anfield.

Well let's hope we don't play Middlesbro pre-season then.

I wouldnt sign Aguero for a number of reasons, he's still quite raw and at the perfect place for his development

the amount of sitters and chances he misses is horrendous
