Profile images as gifs?

I'm sure we used to be able to have our profile image as working gifs? It lets me upload one, but displays as a static image? Is this doable or is it going to rape the bandwidth fees?

Disallowed... it tends to slow the forum software down when using gifs as avatars..

So for the few of us that use low spec PC's it can be a potential nightmare with page loads...

You get the idea the problem it can cause with the GIF thread..

I've stopped viewing the gif thread. Takes ages to load just one page on my 4g phone.
