Got to hand it to him for the work he has put in with this..
Can't believe Tories voted the motion out to feed 1 million kids in poverty during half term in the middle of a pandemic, but backed an Eat out to help scheme. (Actually I can).. We are in a pandemic ffs..
Who here helped by voting these cunts in ought to really hang their heads in Shame and have a big word with themselves..
Anyway now business are taking the mantel and stepping up.. But I have a few issues with this
The Government will now see this response and now expect organisations both charitable and profitable to run with this, as they did with charitable organisations with Food banks.
Sadly though with charitable organisations. There is a severe lack of funding. Even more so during the pandemic
Sadly there will also potentially be some business will exploit this as a marketing ploy to increase their business in the wake of the pandemic restrictions..
What should the government do.. ?? Approach supermarkets, who waste billions of tons of food a year, a good proportion, even before the food his the shelves, particular in agriculture. Make it mandatory a large proportion of this unnecessary 'waste' is used for the benefit for causes like this.. Failing to do so will see them be fined for unnecessary waste or causing unnecessary waste..
