Untreatable carcinoma - wasn't spotted until 4 weeks ago. We're really gutted for the family - he's in my boys year at school and they all know him as playing for LFC.

A PROMISING Liverpool FC academy footballer died after a brave battle with cancer.
Eight-year-old Stephen Packer, known as “Stevie”, played in the Under 9 side.
The talented young Reds star, from Aigburth, died on Sunday.
The club said on its official website: “Stephen was very highly thought of among the coaches and during his short time at the Academy had demonstrated he possessed the skills to develop into a very talented young footballer.
“Everybody at Liverpool Football Club is deeply saddened by the tragic news of Stephen’s death and would like to offer our deepest sympathies to his family and friends at this time.”
LFC midfielder Lucas Leiva posted a picture on Twitter of himself with Stephen.
He wrote: “RIP Stephen. You are with the angels now #sad #mourning. God bless you.”
Academy director Frank McParland also paid tribute.
He said: “Everybody at the club has been deeply shocked and saddened by Stevie’s passing.
“He was very highly thought of by everyone he came into contact with. He was a really happy kid and always had a smile on his face.
“Not only that, but Stevie was a really talented young footballer. He was the best athlete within his group and very speedy.
“Stevie is going to be really missed by everyone here and we'd all like to offer his family and friends our condolences.”
Tributes also came from the Greenbank Netball team in south Liverpool, where Stephen’s mother is also a player.
KateJ wrote on the LFC website: “YNWA little Stevie. A delight to all who met you and no one will ever forget you.
“Not only a fantastic athlete for your age but a marvellous, kind, funny and intelligent young man. Always in our hearts and always our greatest mascot – Greenbank Netball Club xx”.
Stuthebru wrote: “RIP our young number 8 ‘Stevie P’ whose shining light burnt out too soon, though you pass to greater teams, in Liverpool there is always room, YNWA.”
