True though init.

Also, easier to feel superior to people by believing in something outlandish and throwing retarded terms like "sheep" about
Follow government mandates without critical thinking = sheep. Not hard to understand. Especially for a group of fans so proud to talk of their unique independent qualities.

Be an independent thinker and ask yourself important questions about how this is all being handled, the impact to society at large and individually, and why it is different than any response to any virus outbreak in the last 50 years.

I've asked myself those questions, and ultimately I want to keep my loved ones safe, and other people's lives ones safe

It's a crazy thing we have over in Europe called"empathy", which a chunk of the states seems to overlook in favour of the almighty dollar

It's the biggest pandemic in 100 years, with a large death toll. If my actions save 1 life it's worth it.

Very virtuous of you. And if I tell you that the lockdowns caused a friend's business to close and he committed suicide after losing everything? So compassionate.

And that a kid in my son's class got beat up by their now jobless father while he was home drinking and their school was closed? So compassionate.

And that the kids who get their meals at school are going hungry because the school is closed because the teachers are scared of the Rona? So compassionate.

And that my neighbor's sick elderly mother died, utterly alone and afraid? So compassionate.

And that my co-worker's daughter started cutting because she is so terrified that she is going to get the Rona and die? So compassionate.

Pardon me while I question your superior empathy. Stop swallowing the "save just one life" line while ignoring the vast and terrible effects this is having in many of the 99% who will survive this virus.

I work with kids who are extremely vulnerable, many with short life expectancy and we have worked our absolute bollocks off to ensure they are kept safe, with reward because not one of them has fallen ill and we've not had to deal with the dreaded possibility of one of them getting Covid and having to overcome it with their already fragile bodies.

I'm not ignorant of mental health issues either, been there, daughter has been there, I know it's a fine line. Aswell as working hard to protect our school children, I've had to protect myself and my own. There's no conspiracy. I think the Government have made poor decisions, selective decisions, I think figures are questionable because of things I've witnessed first hand, but people aren't sheep. For every mental health worry, there are physically vulnerable people, relatives and friends to worry about too, it's not an either or, just a shitty situation that has effected society in a multitude of ways. It's sad, you can't quantify it or turn it into a competition of awfulness.

If you had a proper socialist safety net in place then the first two cases wouldn't have happened...

Government causes massive problems. Citizens look to government to solve them by taking a greater share of their money and eroding more of their individual liberty.

Citizens thank government.

Government owns citizens.

Brilliant plan.

Understood, and that is true. But isn't that why we wash our hands and keep our distance?

Secondly, 70 odd percent of people who test positive report wearing a mask all the time.

Thirdly, most people who get infected experience mild to no symptoms. If you are in the highest risk cohort then take extra precautions.

Is it possible that they were infected by people who were not wearing a mask?

I'd say that it's expected that there's a higher percentage of people tested and positive cases, that wear masks, because they actually are more conscientious and aware of it. A lot of people who don't wear masks, just won't get tested, doesn't mean they don't or haven't had it.

I don't hear anyone thanking the government.

The only people thanking the Government here are the curtain twitching "I'm alright Jack" types who know which side their bread is buttered. It's a grave misconception that people are sheep and are blindly thanking this lot for this mess.

People follow the basic principles to keep each other safe, and their current respective restrictions to avoid prosecution.

My Mrs is the manager of a restaurant/bar, they have had to convert to a full time restaurant to stay open, while upsetting the "this is all a load of bollocks" old timers who just want to sit there getting pissed all day, who won't follow restrictions and have zero respect for staff just doing their jobs to desperately try to keep their jobs! Police are in at least once per day to pose the ever looming threat that they could be shut down if they don't adhere to current rulings, all while coming home each day upset at the abuse they've suffered from selfish cunts who think "this is all a load of bollocks".

No one I know is thanking the Government, most are scrapping to survive while hoping that people have seen enough to want to vote differently. So please don't assume we're all sheep, actively lapping up the blunders of our corrupt leaders for some easy status quo. Most of us are just worrying about our own, our jobs and trying to get out of this in one mental, physical and financial piece.

We know us average Joe's would get over it, but we're not all average Joe's. Your family is vulnerable and you were lucky enough to come through it. I've seen people die because of Covid, I've seen strong people become a worrysome mess, I've seen some fight to keep their community going, while others have been dealt the worst financial impact.

Us "citizens" aren't thanking our Government for anything, nor are we being "owned" by keeping eachother safe. That's a grave and frankly offensive misconception.

Just one point I'd like to point out - all politicians are twats.

To think that another government would do any better you just have to look around the world and see what other conservative/socialist/communist governments have done. All are just trying to find a way through and don't know who to trust - but given that they are all pocket-lining / power-hungry cunts then that will always compromise advice (which is based on incomplete data anyway).

All have failed to contain this (bar China and their control is absolute - last week they found around 15 infections in Qingdao, closed down the city and tested 11 million within a week, opened up again) no matter where you look (bar geographically isolated countries that acted quickly).

I should clarify - citizens thank government for keeping them safe.

Who does? I fucking dont

Our government is a fucking danger to anyone who doesn't have a fucking honour next to their name.

I keep myself and my own safe. I fought work to shield for 5 months to keep my own family safe. I am in charge of my own destiny. My mental health has taken a fucking battering this year, but I'd shield for fucking 12 months if I had to.

I thank this government for fucking nothing, as they have alienated every close nation, and they clearly couldn't give a fuck about slowing the virus down.

Don't give this pious libertarian attitude to me. You're following the advice of charlatans and conspiracy theorists. Everyone has to look after them selves and each other. The example you gave before are all horrible, but ultimately all had issues before corona that were left fucked over by your governments inactivity and lack of plans for mental health for over a decade.

In case you guys are wondering if there are other countries in the world besides the mighty US of A and the Great Britain, here’s a tiny snippet from the rest of the world to balance the scales a bit.

In parts of Myanmar, normal citizens have become so poor they are now hunting sewer rats and snakes to feed their children.

The fine line of balancing between ‘life and livelihood’, between health and economy...aye.

See now that, that I understand as a reason to open up lockdown a bit

To a degree I think it has been proven that the short sharp shock (total lockdown bar essentials) works better than an extended Tier this, Tier that and Tier the other. People are able to get back to work and children to school quickly - whilst of course continuing to take all necessary precautions. And of course society needs people to work and schools to reopen for it to function.

The problem for the UK is that there is no defining perimeters between suburban areas, they pretty much run into one another in many areas. This makes it more difficult for highly populated, small area, countries to implement and so control. Less so for countries like China and South Korea (508 cases per million / 9 deaths per million) that have large urban areas separated by large swathes of mountainous countryside or deserts and with both of those countries having extensive testing capabilities.

Sweden should have followed that example. Once heralded as setting an example of how best to handle the epidemic they are now one of the worst affected in Europe for deaths (5th) with cases not far off that of the UK per million (10k / 586 to 13k / 662), whilst their neighbours, Norway and Finland, who implemented strong containment measures, are amongst the very best (3.3k / 51 and 2.7k / 64 per million), though they do have geographical advantages (USA 27k / 697).

[article]Today's press conference of Gian Piero Gasperini has been canceled as one of Atalanta's staff members tested positive for Covid-19, Ansa reports.

Gasperini was due to speak at a press conference ahead of La Dea’s Serie A clash against Crotone on Saturday.

According to Ansa, however, the press conference was cancelled as one of Gasperini’s staff members, Cristian Raimondi, has tested positive for Covid-19.

The team is now waiting for the outcome of the second round of swab tests underwent in the morning.[/article]

[article]Three Lazio players missed this morning’s training session and some of them showed symptoms of Covid, reports in Italy claim.

The Rome club travelled to Bruges for a Champions League match with only 16 players available earlier this week.

The club confirmed some of those who missed the game have tested positive for Covid but they have refused to reveal their identities.

The likes of Patric, Mohamed Fares and Jean-Daniel Akpa Akpro missed this morning’s training which took place after a new round of swab tests for the entire team.

According to Calciomercato.com both Patric and Fares have had symptoms that may be related to Covid but the outcome of today’s exams will only be known tomorrow.

As of today, Lazio are without the likes of Thomas Strakosha, Patric, Jean-Daniel Akpa Akpro, Danilo Cataldi, Mohamed Fares, Luis Alberto, Manuel Lazzari, Djavan Anderson, Ciro Immobile, Nicolò Armini, Luiz Felipe and Lucas Leiva.

Senad Lulic trained partially with the rest of the team today while Stefan Radu returned to the pitch after that he had only trained in the gym over the last few weeks.

As per the Serie A protocol, a player is available for a game if he tests negative for Covid 48 hours before a match.

Lazio are due to face Torino on Sunday and the game will go ahead provided that Biancocelesti have 13 players available.

The club, however, can request the postponement of the game if they have at least 10 players positive for Covid within a week since their first case emerged.

Multiple reports in Italy state Lazio want to play against Torino on Sunday and, at the moment, the club is not eager to request a postponement of the game.[/article]

Do we get a walkover then?

It seems like the world is suffering from a parallel mass outbreak of Dunning-Kruger. Never in the history of the world has more people been more certain about a more complex subject that they know almost nothing about

Is it possible that they were infected by people who were not wearing a mask?
100% this.. if everyone wore a mask, those 70% wouldn't have been infected.

Plus, how were they wearing a mask? If I see one more cunt wearing a mask over their mouths only.. I swear.

Stekelenburg and Onana out means they will be with just one keeper registered and he's never played for Ajax. If they draw and we win it looks like good news for us to get top spot and rest players in the last two games

Take one for the team. Pull a Pickford and take out their keeper. Yeah you'll be one man short but they'll have an outfield player in goal.
