I feel we have streamlined the squad, got rid of players who are unlikely to contribute and filled obvious holes but I still feel there are a couple of positions that need to be improved before we can be GENUINE title challengers. I do however feel we are genuine challengers for a top 4 finish but it isn't nailed on as some seem to think.

I'm still in but I have full sympathy for those who commented on Shelvey. I don't think he's the difference but I do agree that it's poor decision making.


I said when it was first mooted that my commitment would be tested if Raul went. His departure - whatever other posters think about it - was a ridiculous piece of business. The squad still has the capacity to play wonderfully well but it's going to have to learn very quickly how to make up for the absence of Raul and his movement.
 
I think we'll win, and I will until the math says we can't. Doesn't stop me from being gutted about losing Aquilani, Meireles, and Shelvey.

I don't think much can be made of last year, for the first half of the season as we were managed by an incompetent old duffer and for the second half of the season we were playing with little or no pressure, I think we were simply relieved we weren't involved in a relagation battle.

I think we now have lean and strong squad, no question about and I'm not even going to shed tears for meireles because (a) I thought his contribution was overrated from last season and (b) I don't think he would have got much of a look in anyway and the less said about less said about aqua the better.

I wasn't ever in the DA but if I were the exits of aqua and meireles and the purchases of the summer wouldn't have weakend my resolve one iota.

I think me and Y1 need to start our own splinter group. I think we'll win the league between 2013 and 2015 just not this season.

We can call it the Realistic Dumbledore's Army.
