Ok. And why ?

I a way I am pleased that he did not run the entire show and that Bellamy is most peoples MOTM. I don't like it when one player is always praised for his brilliance in games, I prefer the praise to be shared amongst a number of players - that way we know for sure we are not a one man team, and that the other players are trying. As Suarez - even though he is not scoring - he is creating chances and is the player we will come to rely on more than most to win our games - he is class and the missed chances do not detract from the player he is.

I agree with Oncy - Suarez isn't clinical. We need another forward, a goalpoacher, up front alongside him to score the chances he creates.

He's still most probably our best player, mind.

A fully fit Stevie G might have something to say about that.

So I'm guessing a 0,6 scoring average pr game in his entire career equals shite in front of goal then? Riiiight.

He'll find his scoring boots soon enough.

Andy Carroll ?
suarez is an amazing striker but he isn't clinical, I don't see this as a big deal if the team is scoring.
This kind of attitude really upset me. Very upsetting. What if the team doesn't score? You'll be the first one to jump on here and curse the strikers.

Fucking strikers job if to fucking score. If he can't fucking score who the fuck should we rely on? Carroll?? Fucking hell. Yes, Bellamy is starting to score now and Kuyt is a consistent scorer at 12-18 goals a season which is not enough. So we need someone who can at least score 20 goals a season and not waste millions of sitters and one on one.

And you can come out here and say, doesnt matter as long as the fucking team is scoring....fucking hell! Fucking what kind of attitude is this?? ?? Fucking play Coates up front then and just pray hard that the fucking team scores then.

Suarez seems to be great at scoring the hard goals but not the easy one, he lacks killer instinct. It highlights exactly why we still need Torres in my mind.

Blimey it does not take much to sway peoples opinions on here these days.
We used to be a far less impatient, much more tolerant site, and differed from the others because we were not so knee jerk and were prepared to give players a chance, and cut them a bit of slack but here we are half a dozen games into the new season and everyone seems fair game, it's not the SCM that I first joined, in fact I thought that was one of the reasons the site was born, that and a con-man.

As the original thread said, Suarez looks to be a little off-form, not a lot came off for him last night, his touch was not what it usually is, but he kept working and making a nuisance of himself.
On form he is obviously a good goal scorer.

regards

I think it's a fair point and hardly knee jerk as I've said it since he signed, he's not really a natural goalscorer but he will score enough, I do agree we need a more potent threat in there in the longrun, which could be the difference. He's a cracking player though and one of, if not THE best we've got. It's good that Bellamy made the difference, it helps that we're not so reliant on the one player. The addition of Gerrard and Bellamy could be pivotal to our success and I'm not that arsed about who are the fall guys or what their price tag is.
How is it knee jerk? Go back and check the thread from before the season starts and MOST people predicted Carroll to be our top scorer. Its got NOTHING to do with form. No one is slating the lad, i think hes amazing, one of the best ive seen in a red shirt. I just dont see him as a natural goalscorer. He looks a 1 in 3 scorer which (so far) is what he is.

It's funny you mention Bellamy, it's something I've thought people always over look and was shown again last night. Bellamy is a fantastic finisher, seems to be very clinical infront of goal. I remember that goal against Watford in 2006 when he sat Ben Foster down, very composed and skillful finish. I think that combination we saw last night with Bellamy and Suarez could see a lot of goals. It's a shame though because where does Andy fit in to this? Right now my first choice up front is Suarez and Bellamy.

Im going to go and take a really big dump.

Im going to use the bathrooms which have the nicer handsoap, its maybe not that important but cleanliness is next to godliness and all.... anyway why would you go to the bogs with the bad handsoap?

I will leave you moaning cunts to ponder the same while i ponder if handsoap is two words or one word with hyphen or without...while taking a big dump.
Christ Vlad youve known me long enough to know how I speak by now.
And it is the same as i always have.
I think youre being a bit precious about it big lad, I really dont think hes a natural goalscorer at all (as i clarified earlier) certainly not at the level required in the premiership.
Maybe i'll be proved wrong, and that would be great, but he's missed sitters in almost every game ive seen him in, (2 yesterday, 1 awful one vs Stoke, the chip he missed when one on one against Sunderland....there are others) the concerns are genuine. Lets not be silly about it, EVERYONE would put him as first name on the team sheet but we need to think about helping him more, because hes a bergkamp not an henry.
Just to clarify my point, Aguero has scored more goals than Suarez in 3 starts. Suarez has been here 8 months.

Do you think he's "capable" of being clinical Oncey? 49 goals in 48 games for Ajax in 09/10 (albeit in the Dutch league) is impressive.
I dunno mate. Dirks record was amazing in Holland for a lesser team. There have been plenty of strikers with amazing records come here and their average fall away, and its the real top TOP teir who come here and improve. Im talking Henry, Drogba, Ruud etc
He is so supremely gifted with the football that i cant believe he cant get better, but at the minute hes not quite there for me. Maybe with time (and a bit of Rushy coaching) he'll become the next 20 goal a season star for us, but i cant see that yet to be honest. Which is why id play him with other forwards at the minute. We need more goal threat.
Please dont think im being hyper negative or slagging the lad. Im not. He and Kenny are the reason i believe in us so much.

Tbh, it's not lack of skill which is his problem it's lack of composure, It's like he does better when he thinks he has no right to score than he does when he thinks he should be scoring, it'll come with time and experience. .

Yeh of course. But just because you're prolific in Holland doesn't always certify you as a natural goalscorer elsewhere.

But if you looked at those three players at 23 and said which one has the potential to become a prolific goal getter in the prem.....

I don't think your being hyper negative. I think your criticism is warranted. I think he's panicking in one on one situations myself. Maybe with Stevie back in the team he'll find himself dropping deep less often than he usually would, running off the shoulder and turning defenders more as he receives the ball with his back to goal ala Torres and the goals will come.

Nobody said it did Hal. That's why I said in brackets (albeit in the dutch league). I know it's no garauntee. Sure Huntelaar is another you could add to the list. I do think though that he has that killer instinct in him, but it's just not there at the moment.
