It was posting in the Norman Wisdom thread which gave me the idea for this one. The strangest connections get made on here sometimes.
When I was at uni, I used to referee or run the line in quite a few games when I wasn't actually playing, to help keep my fitness up. One day when I was running the line, we played another college and their right winger was a mouthy little Welsh sod who kept giving me grief. At one point I mentioned to a knot of their supporters that I'd swing for him if he kept it up. "I wouldn't do that if I were you", one of them said, "that's the captain of the university boxing team".
Anybody had similar close shaves? ;D
