There are some who know that perfectly well and still come out with this cobblers. Merson on the other hand probably has trouble remembering the right way round to sit on the carsie.

In fairness, Merson has ripped into us a great deal. (Glen Johnson anyone? Him backing Hodgson and saying that he had us playing at the only level we were capable of, and Kenny wouldn't take the club any higher)

I wonder what his take is on Ronaldo not taking a pen......
