Who's going to Madrid?

Not open for further replies.
Not yet. I lost all the numbers last year, so only have a few.

I think there's gonna be

Me
Peter
Woland
You
Da huge
Tombrown
Barba Roja
Spion

Sorry if I've forgotten anyone

Let me know where you are all gonna be and I 'll try to pop over and meet you with my boy...

I'm in Madrid from 6 or so on the Friday evening.

Not sure if anyone's going to be there by then so definitely looking to meet for a couple of drinks.

There's also some people I know not off here I need to check diaries with

I have to be in Dubai the week leading up to the final and will grab a flight to Madrid if I can get a sniff of a ticket.

If any of you know someone selling one that you’re not prepared to pay, let me know. I’ll pay over the odds as the chance of me being back anywhere near one again are fucking minuscule. Cheers.

Not sure what's going on with it now but people were saying not that many spurs fans are going.

You'd think somewhere down the chain that's going to free up black market tickets.

I need your inputs with a moral dilemma - I'll probably ignore them, but, hopefully, it will prove cathartic anyway.

Years ago (late 90s) I left Liverpool to live in Ireland, and (much to my later regret) passed on my Season Ticket to a friend. One thing I did do was to put in place a mechanism that gave me access to tickets for big matches (I won't go into details, but some will probably guess). So these days I get across to 1 or 2 Anfield matches a season with my boy (when I can beg tickets from friends), but I can always get at least 1 ticket for finals. So I have my ticket for Madrid.

Now I am seeing all the stories of loyal fans missing out in the ballot, including a load of my mates; people who have followed the team home & away all season in the league, and all home European games; people who have been to all (or nearly all) European away ties but who got their tickets on someone else's ST or fan card for various reasons; people who have had season tickets for 35 years etc etc.

This was less of a problem last year, as most of the troubles folks were having was in travel & accommodation - at least it seemed that way to me, but it may be the fact that all my mates who wanted to go were sorted for tickets coloured my impression.

It's wrong - I know it's wrong. Most of the blame is on UEFA for their allocation, but I have seen a lot of people saying the club distribution & prioritisation of what little they get is wrong - and I have to agree.

Then again I tell myself that I "did my time" in the 80s and 90s, including the dark days, and I specifically invested in my ticket access when I left, knowing regular match attendance would no longer be an option.

So, at the back of my mind is an irksome conscience telling me I should give up my ticket to someone more deserving. Now - before the clamour starts IF I do pass it on, it won't be on here, I'm afraid. I know there are many deserving causes here, but I have a list of about 15 "real" people - folks I know physically (not all in the biblical sense) rather than virtually - who are desperate, who come first.

So what does the combined wisdom of SCM think?

As I said I will probably ignore a lot of inputs; also I am going to Madrid anyway, so may not make my final decision until 15 minutes before kick off.

The logical and rational thing to do is give it to me.

A week or two ago DB said he had a contact in UEFA who may get him a ticket; more recently he has said he wont be able to make it over himself. So why don't you ask him when he brings you an early morning cup of tea in bed tomorrow?

Keep it and cheer us to #6. Don't let other people's sob stories get to you, but obviously giving it to someone who you think it could have a significant impact on would be pretty epic. Kudos for even thinking about it tbf, but when there are only 10,000 or whatever going there will be thousands of people who can cobble together a story about why they are the #1 super fan.

We are staying in San Sebastian on the Friday night to break the journey up, and then leaving for Madrid early Sat morning. We prob wont get there until about 2pm on the Saturday. Then, Ive got the ballache of having to go and collect my ticket somewhere (The corporate ones are all collect in Madrid - You need ID and wont get the ticket otherwise, think this is how they are trying to stop the touts now). So I wont be able to actually relax and enjoy myself until about 5 or 6pm when I've got the ticket in my hand. By which time, we will have to head to the ground.

Bit shit like but at least Ive got 2 days afterwards on the ale before we head home.

San Sebastian is a boss place to start like

Not been. It was wolands suggestion. Either there or Bilbao and he plumped for here. Are they ready for us in San Sebastián? Prob not.

Updates will be on the WhatsApp group for the whole journey.
It's class mate. Get a bevvy and a mini scran in every bar. Plus if you climb up to the jesus the views are unreal. Also Bilbao is shit in comparison

I'd suggest the offer of a ticket is the least Dreamy could do after tormenting me on here for years.

San Sebastian is the wise Choice!! They are defo not ready, although there have been quite some bar crawls there over the years.

Once the little Momos are older I want to take the boss to San Sebastian. It looks amazing and the food is meant to be unbelievable.

Hi all

I bought 2 x flights in excitement straight after the final whistle without checking I could get time off work... And can't so if anyone is after 2 flights from Stansted direct to Madrid Thursday to Monday I'm only looking for face value and not to make money off people... If anyone wants them or knows of anyone that wants them get in touch! Just need to do the name change online. Thanks, Nick

@Ryan

Send us on your end of season review.

Happy with Gini's resurgence in form this season? Are you a fan of Fabinho? What does the future hold for Divock The Swagmontser?

Post it on here - https://www.facebook.com/groups/2328603340716998/

Don't forget RyanAIr will charge an arm & a leg for a name change, so you will need to include that in what you sell it for - but it will still sell IMO
