It looks like West Ham Tech Director hot fav for the role.
Xabi as coach if he wants it.
So who is your hot tip for coaching staff? Do we still have the Dutch GK coach? Tafferrel is staying which will keep Ali happy.

Is coaching appointments the new transfers?

If most of the coaching staff have left, and Xabi needs a continuity figure, then Thiago or Milner are an option?
Sebastián Parrilla and Alberto Encinas are his Assistants at the moment, both Spanish speaking, having coached Real Madrid and Barca prior... If Xabi did leave those two would also follow, if not with him but certainly to other clubs

Just read abt West Ham's appt of Max Hahn yesterday - might be an indication of Tim Steidten staying.

There had been rumours the pair would be joining the Hammers setup. But that had gone quiet amid the links to Liverpool.

Hahn has now officially joined West Ham as their new Head of Technical Recruitment and Analysis according to TGG. And today (Wednesday) is his first official day in the role.

That surely means Steidten is setting down roots at West Ham, putting paid to any hopes Liverpool might have of luring him away this summer.

“Max Hahn has joined West Ham United as their new Head of Technical Recruitment and Analysis, as Technical Director Tim Steidten makes his mark behind the scenes,” TGG reports.

“Steidten joined the Hammers in July 2023 from Bayer Leverkusen and has set about upgrading their recruitment and analysis department. Hahn is only 28 and moves to West Ham from Werder Bremen, where he was Scouting and Analysis Co-Ordinator.

“His (Steidten) brother, Moritz Steidten, is joining West Ham as a scout.

“Meanwhile Dylan Curnell has been promoted from Head of Academy Analysis to First Team Recruitment Analyst.”

Basically, Parrilla was the only backroom staff who was appointed with Alonso (that they have worked seamlessly with the existing backroom staff to deliver their current unbeaten run of results is laudable).

Sebastián Parrilla
- Alonso's no. 2 when he "took charge of Real Madrid's Infantil A side - the under-13s - and guided them to a league title last Sunday with a record of 22 wins and one draw"
- worked within Madrid’s youth structures for the last 17 years before leaving to join Alonso at Real Sociedad B

Alberto Encinas
- appointed by sporting director Simon Rolfes while former head coach Gerardo Seoane was at Leverkusen

Interesting to see if we will continue to have an Elite Development Coach too, with Vitor Matos leaving.

Neither Thiago or Milner are continuity figures as neither have a coaching relationship with our players

I think Thiago is seen as a bit of a mentor and someone to look up to by the younger lads in the squad as well as as being a good mate of Xabi.
Alonso encouraged him to come to Liverpool I think.

Hoping we can get Freund to dump Bayern but Steidten is the more likely option. I think he'll burn down his office to come here if he has to. Mitchell - might be a possibility since Utd seem to going down Ashworth avenue

Realistically, though, it'll be someone underwhelming like Richard Hughes.
