Besides from the first 15minutes we was an absolute state. To be fair though there wasn't really much he could have done with how we were playing, especially second half, we just hoofed the ball up to him on his own and said, do something.

Well now that it's over can someone explain to me what it is that Andy Carroll is good at again.

Cause I'm fucked if I know. Drinking doesn't count.

Shooting from outside the box, getting headers on target emm... that's it I'm out.

Yeah, it was probably one of the hardest matches for a lone striker to play given how we set up.

That doesn't excuse the fact the whenever he did get the ball he generally miscontrolled it or misplaced the pass. When you're set up defensively you want your striker to hold it up a litle better than that.

He was fucking dump. No excuses.

Yeah, no argument. It wasn't the easiest match for him to play though, and despite his build, he doesn't seem to be suited to playing as a lone striker.

There's no concrete evidence that Carroll has a drink problem though so it's a bit unfair to say we should sack him or whatever.

If he was drinking regularly, whether it be in Liverpool or back home in the Toon then surely he'd have been sussed out by now. Especially nowadays when Twitter and such like is all the rage. Only takes one person.
Errrr.......apart from pictures and accounts of him being a pisshead. If I was a supporter of Carroll I'd be hoping he DID have a drink problem or some other reason for being fucking shite rather than....well....being shite with no mitigating circumstances
Twitter is an important source of information. We should always take pictures and information published on it as the absolute truth.

Bellamy was a bit shit too. I can't really remember anything positive he did in an attacking sense anyway.
That was Bellers' quietest game since he signed. He's due a bad game, because he's generally been excellent.

True, maybe we should go back to only starting him every second game, it seems that's when he's at his best.

I thought he looked out of sorts, but he was snapping at their heels throughout the first half and a few times was unlucky not to get away with the ball. That said, on the few times he broke in the second half he got the ball took off him far too easily. I guess there's more than a bit of truth to the stories about him not being able to hold up to too much football. Worryingly Carroll and Adam look equally on the edge in terms of fitness. We need to buy in this window, we need a bit of energy in the final third.

He needs to man the fuck up!

A good starting place would be to get back to bullying the central defenders once again.

Exactly! He needs to be standing next to central defenders telling them he's going to knock fuck out of them. He likes a scrap, just ask Stephen Taylor.

Dalglish dismisses Carroll rumours

Thursday, 12 January 2012 07:55
Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has dismissed rumours of Andy Carroll's potential exit as having "absolutely no foundation whatsoever".

Reports suggested the #35million club record signing's former club Newcastle were preparing a cheeky cut-price bid to take the England international back to his native north east.

The Magpies have played down the speculation and Press Association Sport understands there has been no contact between the two clubs.

Caroll's representatives have also insisted they have neither been told to look for, nor are seeking, a move for their player.

Dalglish was dismissive when asked about whether the rumours could unsettle the striker, who has scored four goals this season but has yet to find his best form since his transfer to Merseyside almost 12 months ago.

"I am worried about the people that invent them," he said.

"You have absolutely no foundation whatsoever (for the stories). I don't need to justify what is in the paper. I have stood up - and always will stand up - for the players."

Turning the argument around on journalists at his post-match press conference after the 1-0 Carling Cup semi-final first leg win over Manchester City Dalglish added: "You justify your profession and you justify the story."

It's like he's lost all of his physical attributes since signing for us. I'm fed up of seeing him allow himself to get bumped all over the place.

Get a bit of fire in your belly please Andy!

You can definitely see the tide turning as regards the fans with Carroll. LFC fans are very supportive but if they feel a player is not putting the effort in they'll soon become quite critical. His touch at times last night was quite worrying but the service was poor again.

He wasn't getting stick from the fans at the game though, and the service apart from one or 2 good passes was real shit

he's a complete liability. the ball just bounces off him and our players won't gamble in an attacking sense when he's on the ball or for a flick on. i have not seen one sign of him actually being able to play football and he'll never make it here.

Yeah- noticed a few times when one of ours had the option of playing it to him and thought better of it and passed it laterally rather than forwards.

We won, at City.

Calm the fuck down.
Couldn't agree more. He didn't set the world alight yeasterday but he played his part. He caused their CB's quite a few problems, he made room for Bellamy and Gerrard, and he came back to help the defence for all City's set pieces.

He's most certainly a very good player, whether or not he sorts his attitude/fitness etc out and we get to see the real Andy Carroll is not certain but my gut feeling is he'll come good. He'll never be worth £35m but he could still go on to have a very good LFC career.

Apart from a couple of efforts in the first half he was poor. But dont try to rate him on the second half. It was just a game of defence against attack.

I may be way off the mark but more and more I get the feeling Dalglish is determined to keep Carroll just because he has been pissed off at everyone questioning the transfer since day 1 . He seem's stubbornly intent on keeping him and saying everything is fine yet he hardly plays him . At the very least he could admit that Carroll has to do a bit more , maybe a kick up the arse will help . It's just so frustrating how insistant he is that everything is fine with carroll when obviously it is now . Feels like they not even doing anything to improve things .

This is the type of fucking monkey bollocks that I have been talking about.
He doesnt play "alright". He is total shit. Period. End of.
Summer - you're being an utter utter knob about Carroll. It's this type of shite that keeps us from being top 4.
Get rid. Get new. It's simple.

I take him at his word, that he sees Carroll as a signing for the next five years, rather than one year.

Therefore his value to the team currently is negligible. I think the owners needed to spend big & he bought a player for the future at an inflated price.

No Jon. Just no.
There is absolutely nothing about Carroll that suggests he is a future prospect.
Can everyone just stop? Please?
We need another striker. How you can't see it is baffling.
