Adam Wharton

He's a really good player, I'd take him. Added to the fact that Dreamy has said no further cements that this is nailed on to be a successful signing. But it is indykalia so...

there was talk of this back at the end the last summer window, macallister for wharton being a thing we’re trying to make happen. also we’d be looking to move gakpo on next summer

He is a good technical player. I would prefer someone with more elite-level physicality, defensive nous, and a higher ceiling in our midfield. But if Macca wants to leave, not a bad replacement.

Has anyone (anyone reputable anyway) said Macca wants to leave? I like Wharton but I very definitely do not like the idea of letting Macca go. He's not been his usual self this season, but who has?

his dad was saying he liked the madrid links or something a while ago (when macallister was playing well). probably means very little but usually when someone close to a player is doing a little public flirting it’s saying let’s talk imo.

Ah, OK, thanks Markeh. Perhaps Macca's current form will persuade them to drop the idea, as they seem to have done over Konate.
yea i’d guess they’ve pumped the brakes on the pair of them if they’ve watched any of our matches this season

Wharton has far more athleticism than Macca, which is his biggest liability even when playing well.

Wharton also has excellent vision for a pass compared with Jones and Szobo.

Why should we be thinking it should be either McAllister or Wharton? We basically have 4 midfielders covering 3 positions.

We are desperately short in that department. Ditto CB.
Fair point, but I also think that selling Macca will pay much or most of the Wharton fee.
