i obviously don't want him to go but i can imagine it's very hard for a player nowadays to turn Real or barca down if they offer 1st team football .So i would worry a little if they really are in for him .
Rather keep skrtel ? that can only be based on fitness record , for no other reason would i prefer skrtel .

This odd - he's one of the players who's talked most loudly about staying here, and not going abroad. If it's Barca or Real, I couldn't really fault him. More money, better chance of winning now etc ... Pity, he's one of the best players we have. We cannot afford however to sell Agger and Skrtel. It would be mental.

i guess this is what you get when you have 2 fuckwit owners dragging the club down, some shite management and you lose the likes of mascherano , torres , alonso and then when you do finally get some money you spend it on carroll , downing , henderson , enrique and adam . Guess we have to accept the reality that our better players could have their heads turned until we get top 4 and challenging .

Yeah, they paid 24 million for Lescott. Something we should remind them of if they enquire after our players. That said, I'd rather not that people use Carroll as a marker for what we'll pay for players....

And there was me thinking that no way is Skrtel worth £20m but more like £10m - £15m, whereas Agger on the other hand would only attract interest from the best team in the World and go for 1 billion, gagillion, fafillion, shabolubalu million illion yillion dollars.

I've been pretty worried ever since I read priot to the Euros that he was Mancinis preferred target alongside Coloccini.
Even more so when rumours gathered pace that both Real and Barca wanted him as well. When he then played a splendid Euros it was always going to end up like this despite all the smoke and mirrors.
Today Masscherano has come out and praised the shite out of him too in some Spanish newspaper and it will be fierce the coming weeks I'm affraid.
- Loved to play with him, lovely guy, calm, collected and classy etc. Someone's trying to pave the ground for a move here.
And no matter how much Skrtel's admires on here keep on banging about he's the better defender compared to Agger it's clear that he's simply not a Barca, Real, or imo even a Citeh player in terms of class whereas the latter is. Why we should be worried, at least those of us who don't want to lose Agger.
Oh and Jules, COME ON, you make it sound like Skrtel has been some kind of Sami in the air, he REALLY hasn't. Not even close. He's been seriously poor in fact for almost every season with us in the air, why we've been loads banging on for a commanding presence for setpieces. How many times has the ball not hit his head and gone in the complete opposite direction than what he (should've) aimed for????
