Hyena

No reason at all to think of him today, but here is a random clip of this useless plodder being completely incapable of running with the ball before passing. Zero mobility. Dreadful.

Hope we don't beat Man United to his signing or anything.

If we just get Ugarte and Thuram, I'd be happy with just those two. Any one else is a bonus. With each passing game, the CB position becomes more and more urgent

Either Romano is being cryptic, or this is potentially on

He was excellent in the WC, better than Enzo imo. He was everywhere, his constant high press was unbelievable. Even before the WC he was playing very well for Brighton. No idea where they pulled him out from, but most scouts from the bigger clubs should be ashamed of themselves because the talent is undeniable.

He has slowed down a little after the WC, Caicedo had been the better midfielder. No idea where he fits in to our midfield though, and he will cost some serious money.

Haha I think Hyena has more than just one tongue in his cheek. Wonderful clips of what he could bring to our midfield.

I'm gonna throw 2 more names into the hat (probably won't mean anything as we've been linked with neither)

Youssuf Fofana at Monaco and Florentino Luis at Benfica.

Fofana looks to be a well rounded midfielder.

Luis a exceptional DM in the making.

Have you seen Luis's buyout clause, £105m I think?
Youssuf Fofana, looks really promising but Monaco like Benfica always ask for top dollar.

Isn't like every Benfica player on that buy out?

Just get Todd to lend us 105m, I'm sure he would if we ask nicely...maybe in exchange for some advice on how to run a football club.

Do they?

Was 35m for Badiashile top dollar?
They let Siofiane Diop go to Nice for 20m, Henrichs for 15m.

You only really get what another team is prepared to pay sometimes, like Mbappe.

Being interviewed at the moment, speaks excellent English and comes across as a very grounded and intelligent young man.
Excellent player most importantly, really hope we get him.

He was excellent - its like Henderson of old Energy but with Skill and driving with the ball. I would like us to sign him ,he reads the game so well. We actually need him. We need a Caicedo type as well.

I have nothing against MacAllister - he is exactly the kind of player who brings multiple positive intangibles to their team that can be the difference between winning and losing a trophy. He is a winner, no doubt, and he’s a good footballer.

But is he £70M good? He doesn’t have the speed and athleticism of a top-class midfielder and while he does really well to compensate in other aspects, you don’t pay this kind of money for intangibles - you buy a midfielder that will dominate in every aspect of the game. I can’t help but feel that a team that will pay big money for MacAllister this summer are basically suckers - they could have bought him for peanuts just 12 months ago but failed to see the potential. We should be looking for the next MacAllister, not overpaying for the current one.

Valid points, but from what I saw today, he looks the business, £70M ? - No he is not worth that, but we are in such a shitty situation we can only really afford to buy players that are proven in this league. Can I also say that if I saw Bellingham play against Chelsea for the first time - I would think he was shit. I don't understand how a club of our size can actually sacrifice an entire season in the hope of signing someone the following season ? - this is new to football and our ownership and manager should not get away with it.

If he performs at his current level for 5 years here he’s worth every penny. So it’s a gamble sure but one that could pay off. He’s attitude seems top notch which is something sorely lacking at the moment across our team.

He replaces Thiago and scores more goals.

All of this. He's very good but that price makes me leery.

Mac Allister and Gravenbersch and you have a good balance of brains, passing, dribbling, technique and athleticism. Have a sitting young destroyer type like Fabinho (Ugarte? Paulinha? Lavia?), and you've got the perfect balance of the 3.

FWIW, Mac Allister is a bit more like Gundogan, as opposed to KDB. Class player still.

It's an inflated market, and that's the going rate. Chelsea just paid £105m for Enzo Fernandes who might be younger but IMHO less of player too than Ali Mac.

We need a number 8 too as well as 6, that's why I want Thuram. He is faster than Jude, failing him Lavia but Man C will buy him back.

We unearthed fabinho, to some extent. At least at this level. It took us the better part of a year for him to bed in. Due to our gross incompetence we need 2 immediate starters at the least, and if they don't pay dividends immediately then we aren't going to win anything.

When they do pay dividends, we will need to replace another two midfielders, a left back, a forward etc.

We are playing catch up after procrastinating. We need increased degree of certainty, for that you pay more.

This guy in the middle with Trent and Diaz, Gakpo & Mo making all sorts of runs ahead of them would be elite.

Once he's in, its more robust defensive minded CMs we need to add, rather than a Mount IMO but he would be a great addition.
