Hansern: 'I don't know what the problem is - plenty of outfield players have lost arms and legs, but you keep bringing up the tiresome fact that Becker occasionally misses weeks and weeks because of the same trivial things....'

I'm sorry but this just cannot continue. Your first choice keeper needs to be your most reliable selection each week. You can't keep covering for him for several weeks, or MONTHS, every season. Maybe last season was an incredible fluke, and the injury after that, last season, was another incredible fluke - I mean, they didn't come about through collisions with huge centre forwards - but now, again, he's out. This either stops here or it becomes a 'Thing'.

Is Kelleher ready? There is no way we can play Adrian for 6 weeks, the bloke is total liability, hes got Mings cement shoed footwork allied to Karius ludicrous levels of over confidence. Should have been moved on in the summer but wasnt. Should never be trusted in any game we want to win again

I think our cheaping out on a cb will probably prove to be the most avoidable risk we took.

Gomez was absolutely shot and could use a break. We can't make that change now, and we've already been forced to play vvd in a game he shouldn't have played, and fabinho at cb.

Only hope is Matip returns to his form of the firm half of last season where he was amazing.

Look at the games he’s probably going to miss over 6 weeks.

Everton
Ajax
Sheffield United
Midget Land
West Ham
Atalanta
Man City
Leicester

Absolutely no way Adrian should get that run of games.

Stops here ? I think the guarantee return period has expired. Besides which, even with his injuries we romped the league because when he is in goal he is generally totally dominant and confidence draining for the opposition.

The issue isn't Becker ... it's who replaces him if he is out for a few matches.

Kelleher : we aren't signing another keeper today so he is the back-up to the back-up. Is he ready ? Is he up to it ? Can he be worse than Adrian?

Gomez worries me more, as he is a first choice cb.

But when we are talking about Adrian, he was never good enough.
His pattern of giving away soft rebounds straight into the danger zone and not to the sides is just amazing at this level.

The club has to realise that Adrian ia not a capable deputy and go back to the market and see if they can get a £10m replacement.

Conceding 7 is a joke, a few deflections were bad luck, but the rot started with the first goal and Adrian's error. Gomez is short on confidence too. As we well know, if you dont trust your keeper the defence then suffers, we can't have 4-6wks of this.

We need to loan an experienced, confident GK then.
What are the options, now that Brad Friedel is retired?

We should use these two weeks to play change our way of playing so it suits Adrian. No more playing out from the back, no more passing the keeper. Just straight up Stoke style hoof it from the back. Also, no more high line.
If we do that I think we can cope with having Adrian in goal.
