Just looking back to our previous POTY's over the last 20 years.

You know you had it bad between 2010-2012 when Reina Lucas & Skrtel take the awards.

Not exactly:

He told TNT Sports: “I think that every moment of the season had its reason and today we can say that it was the attitude of the players on the field. Perhaps because of the first game, which was a very elastic score.
“Coming here, beating Real Madrid away from home, it’s hard to… speaking as a human being now, it’s hard for you to create that expectation of qualifying.

“Now, man, I’m wearing the Liverpool shirt, I’m going to play against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu. The least I have to do is give my best. So that’s my thought, I believe I did my best and I leave here with a clear head.

“And now speaking as a team, we have much more to do. And this season of ups and downs, every moment had its reason.”

Alisson continued: “We had injuries, I think we don’t like to talk about it in football. We’re not going to use it as an excuse, but the injuries certainly hurt us. Now we only have one player left out, so that’s no longer an excuse. It’s been like this for over a month now.

“We had a fantastic, incredible game against United. Soon after, an inexplicable game against Bournemouth. And against Real Madrid, it’s not that we played badly, but we didn’t play enough to tie the game. There was a lack of attitude, a lot was lacking on our part.”

He's arguably the best keeper in the world and he likely won't be playing CL football next season. Firmino is also leaving and there's doubts about Fabinho, too, so that network maybe disappearing for him. The club need to have a real think on how to keep Alisson happy. Be it a new contract, or the captaincy, or whatever it is. The man could walk into any club in the world. If we had just a good keeper this season we would be in the bottom half of the league.

He deserves a good song, too.

Simples, bring Lucas back to run the Brazilian BBQ nights

Real Madrid were shaken when we went 2 nil up then Allison gifted them that goal which gave them the momentum and belief to turn the result around and then go for the kill.

2 dumb posts in 2 minutes in 2 separate threads.....you've outdone myself years ago when I first joined when all I did was post negative kneejerk crap.

Firstly we were 2-1 up when that happened and secondly the ball was already lost in the centre circle when all our midfielders and fullbacks were pushed up leaving our CB's and Ali exposed....but if you'd actually watched the game you'd know this.

Probably just a break?

[article]Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson admits he's surprised Alisson was left out of Brazil's latest international squad.

Brazil take on Morocco in a friendly this Saturday but Liverpool shot-stopper Alisson has surprisingly been overlooked for the fixture despite being his country's first-choice option at the World Cup.

Ramon Menezes, interim coach of the Seleção as the search for Tite's permanent successor goes on, has included Ederson in his 23-man squad for this weekend alongside two keepers currently plying their trade in the Brazilian top-flight: Mycael (Athletico Paranaense) and Weverton (Palmeiras).

Ederson told reporters: "The first moment I saw the list I was surprised, but it's the coach's decision. They are choices, I thought he would be on the list, but he was not.

"I do not know why, if it is a matter of opportunities for younger players. But we have to work, give our best, every day there is a good new player who can take that responsibility too.

“I think it's too early for that (talk of him being number one). Of course it is always important to start a cycle, for me it is no different and I hope to start in the best way possible. But we know it is a long cycle, many things can happen, you can live many phases during this period. You have to work as hard as possible, maintain consistency so you can be here as many times as possible."[/article]

Tbf we have no idea what's being said especially with Ali as his back is to us, maybe looks like Hendo says to him "what do you mean my ball" unless the 2 come out and tell the truth....which won't happen, it'll have been forgotten about at the final whistle.

Anyone suggesting something based on Elvis Costello needs a ban for life
