Andre Marriner to ref Norwich game

Just saw the MotD analysis. I still think he dived. The moment where they freeze the replay doesn't show how close there feet are together.

And of course Hansen and Didi are going to be biased.

Im the harshest critic of our lads when they dive, that wasnt a dive because he did catch his foot. Suarez could have stayed on his feet and exagerated the fall but it was not a dive.

I'm usually the opposite. I usually always try and stick up for them if it's in any way possible. But I just can't see any contact. The camera angle when they freeze the action is wrong. You can't tell how close their feet are together. It needs to be a side view.

We got lucky with a few decisions last Sunday no doubts.

We should have had a pen ourselves tho when Kompany dragged Suarez to the ground in 2nd half.

Marriner was very forgiving of Suarez throughout the CIty game if we're being honest. Suarez was acting the dick all game.

Was he really? One foul early on he got booked for. Correct decision. Another one later on, I didn't feel it was a booking. Correct decision. And that's it as far as I can remember. The dive? Yes he acted the dick here. Should've been a yellow.

I think saying "all game" is harsh.

Fair enough. During the game I just remember Suarez being agitated, mouthy and generally being a ticking time bomb.

I was convinced he was gonna be sent off.

He dragged him back in the box at one stage too. And Zabaleta should have been off some time before the end for a handball and second yellow.

Yeah he was definitely agitated. It was probably frustration that nothing was going right for him.

It is. He always gets frustrated like that when his passes aren't working & his touch is off.

He then does that thing all incredible players with a winning mentality do, & tries to overcompensate by doing everything himself. It's only really this season that we haven't seen stevie do that once.

Hopefully a trip to Norwich is exactly what Suarez needs.

Yep he does try and overdo it. And if that's his only downfall I won't hold it against him.

Yeah a hatrick against Norwich will get him back on track

Bollox to the theory we are getting lucky with refereeing decisions..........

*We've lost one home game all season versus Southampton but we're denied a stonewall penalty at 0-0, a game we lost by one goal.
*Sterling having a perfectly good goal ruled offside away at City at 0-0, a game we lost by one goal.
*Suarez denied a stonewall penalty away at Chelsea after being fouled by Eto'o, a game we lost by one goal.
*Suarez denied a stonewall penalty after being fouled by Ox as we lose in FA Cup by 1 goal.

There have been others but these were the first that came to mind and if we'd got those decisions we could have maybe 3 more points in the league and City/Chavs would have 2 less.

We got some decent decisions in the win over City but we're due a lot more before we start considering ourselves "lucky".

I know theatrics and diving has never been accepted in the English game but it feels like it's receiving much more attention than it used to.

I don't remember there being as much furore when Chelsea had Drogba and Robben throwing themselves all over the place week in, week out? Or with Ronaldo at Utd either.

Yep. I totally agree. Suarez was also denied a couple of other stonewall pens, but I can't remember if they were potential "game changers" or not. But yeah, I don't think we've been overly lucky this season.

Post of the day.

I thought Suarez was gonna get sent off when he totally pointlessly went through that orc after 5 minutes. It was soooo late and out of control. I saw him go nuts at the ref and thought it must be red, quite shat myself.

I don't know if it was pointless. It's Suarez. He's cunning like a fox, and sometimes rather devious on the pitch. I was thinking at that time that it was possibly his way of going out to hurt Demichelis just a bit so he's bothered for the rest of the game, gambling on it being too early in the game for a card.
