Is anyone watching 'Goals On Sunday' ?

Owen is on it.

I'm not watching, but apparently he has said:

"Liverpool are on a par with Arsenal"

"I love/loved Liverpool. I didn't want to leave for Real Madrid"

"I don't think I'm injury-prone"

Can anyone confirm this ?

Is he mental ?

If he did, it's just about the most decent thing he's said since he left. Bar the injury bit, which is, yeah, mental.

I just read that he said his injuries were a result of us not sorting out some hamstring injury properly when he was 19.

So to get fit now he's being helped my the former Liverpool physio (who was our physio when he was 19)

It's true that Roy Evans over-used Owen when he first burst on the scene. He had a bad hamstring pull at the end of his first full season and he was never quite the same after that. It wasn't the way to handle a very talented young player.

I'd take him back ... b/c beggers can't be choosers, and he'd want to prove something. Pay as you play. yes, he played for the cunts ... but we need a striker.

You don't want Kaka but you want Owen? GTFO!

We need a striker. Not an attacking midfielder, esp if we're linked with Sahin, who's younger, better & would probably not kill our wage bill. You're all wanting Kaka based on the player who he was at Milan, when he was phenomenal. If you've watched him over the last 2-3 years, you'll see a player who has no confidence, and struggles to do what players like Ozil etc do regularly in his position at Madrid. We just got rid of something like 200k/week of wages. You guys want 100k+ on a permacrock based on his past glories? It's like watching Joe Cole x 78, MK II

You're all wanting Kaka owen based on the player who he was at Milan Liverpool, when he was phenomenal. If you've watched him over the last 5 years, you'll see a player who has basically done fuck all. We just got rid of something like 200k/week of wages. There's a small difference - we need a striker. I'm not saying 200k/wages, I'm saying 'pay as you play' ... If we can do that with Kaka, who Madrid are so eager to flog off, and that's the best we can do - do it. But I really wonder if people have watched Kaka over the last few years? I mean, I'm surprised Keni out of all people is pushing him considering how he hasn't really looked himself since he arrived at Madrid (be it because of injuries, or because of lack of confidence).

Oh well, I don't care ...

I would much rather the club took a gamble on Jordan Rhodes, what would he cost 5-6 million and we wouldn't lose much if he was a success. Look at Beckford blues paid a million for him and have sold him on for 3million.

Much like Gerrard's comments yesterday, I'm filing this in the evidence cabinet titled "footballers are retards"

I would be a-ok for this. I wonder how the Belgian lad everton just signed will do for 6 million.

What else do LFC need before bothering to get someone who can score goals? A site custodian? A warm-up man for that idiot mascot? There must be somebody else.

Michael Owen is in advanced talks with Everton and is close to joining his boyhood idols on a free transfer.
The former Liverpool and England striker, 32, who has also been courted of late by Stoke, must still pass a stringent medical but it suits his wishes to stay in the north-west.

The deal could go through on Monday, ironically on the night his last club Manchester United visit Goodison Park.
The signing will be considered controversial in some quarters as Owen’s most prolific spell was with neighbours Liverpool.

Id like us to sign some really good players.
Basically so that the whole opposition back 6 cant all just sit on Suarez for 90 minutes.
When i play football on a Sunday, I identify the weakest player on the opposition team and he gets afforded space and time as i know i can get to him if his team mates ever bother to give him the ball.
Everyone we play sees every one of our players that way.
