Antoine Semenyo

Yes please. Not sure whether we need to publicly flog the racist melt who had a go at him in the first game of the season? That would also be fine with me.

Already have Isak and Ekitike. Let’s go sign this lad who has done nothing for 9 figures. And goes to AFCON.

Should have been brought in summer ahead of Isak and possibly Etikete. I thought in my view was a better fit for our system and needs. 90m is now a lot of money though especially since he signed a new contract in the summer I think.

Have to admit it's looking like I was wrong about him. I questioned whether he had what it takes to step up to a club challenging for trophies. Looks like he does.

I'm still not sure. He's definitely kicked on now this year, but I dunno. Still not sold.

That's how I felt by the end of last year. I now remember feeling the same way about Mane before we signed him.

I was wrong then. I suspect I'm wrong now.

BBC Gossip (I know) saying he has a release clause but Bournemouth are trying to keep it secret ... good luck with that 🤣

He should have been a stronger candidate in the summer.

Our windows tend to be splurge then save, I'd assumed after spending £450M last summer, we might be quiet for a few windows. Maybe we'd have to offset it with Ali or Salah going to Saudi?

Existence of a release clause aside, I don't see that his value will be less in the summer than in January. He's recently signed a new contract hasn't he? What used to be a speculative amount e.g. £35M, is about £70M these days so, the £80M or so touted seems fair (in an insane market).

Plus, Arsenal and Chelsea (of course) will be interested as well so that could well push up the value.

Good player.

Cody has just signed a new deal and is a decent player. Just off form so far this season. Hugo can play on the left of a three if needed. The big gap that needs sorting is RW. If Mo can’t find his form again that’s massive.
I know everyone is focussing on the new signings as a reason as to why we’ve not been ace so far, but for me, there are a few players who were massive for us last season who haven’t been at the races yet.

Good signing on its own
Great signing if we are also buying at least two CBs and a DM too.

Is Slot a bit mad?

At this rate we will have 6 players costings us 100m by the end of the season.

At least 3 of them will be called a shit name and be rooted to the bench after 3 starts.

His trajectory is clear for everyone to see. The problem now is that £85 million—or any top-end fee—is used to secure a player who had already produced big numbers over several seasons. These days, clubs are being forced to move earlier and earlier, yet still pay those same massive fees. Maybe I'm just coming to terms with the new reality of finance in football, and enhanced CL money coming into the game, but fees like this still make me wince! Anyway, if he keeps up something close to a goal-involvement per game, then I'll be less arsed by the fee. We are lacking pace, strength and progressive carries from deeper areas, as well as threat on the LW. He ticks all of them and then some.

His "trajectory" is that there was a small improvement from his first full season to the next - thats about it. While the stats for the first 7 games this season are good, there is no indication that it is not just a purple patch .

Total of 86 games - isn't the FSG model, generally to look at 150+ games in the norm?

We need a couple of CBs and a CM. We don’t need more attackers until the ones we have have had time to gel and fully bed in. If it’s not worked out for one of them by next summer that’s different. I’d be very surprised if we moved for any attacker other than a RW in Jan if Salah has lost his magic. Even then, I can see us trying Frim there.
