Here's an e-mail doing the rounds that has apparantly been sent to FSG, everyone at LFC, all of the SOS committee and the supporters committee.

It might explain the twitter outburst of the twatter

FSG and Liverpool Owners – Who is giving advice and direction.

It has come to light over the last few weeks, just who the people are who are whispering in the ear of the owners of Liverpool Football Club.

FSG have a long standing history of experience and success working in various sports, but no experience in football until the deal they made which secured the ownership of LFC and saved the club from near administration.

As someone who paid close attention to how the custodianship of Hicks and Gillette played out, I have also paid close attention to the actions of FSG since the takeover. My own personal hope was that they would employ experienced professionals in executive positions who could run the club from this country, employ an experienced CEO who had experience of football, and implement a structure at executive level so that the manager had all the necessary resources at his disposal, whoever the manager was. FSG as an ownership vehicle would then be able to concentrate on turning the various stadium ideas and plans into reality.

What we have seen though for whatever reason is a club completely lacking in executive leadership, no experienced CEO to be given the responsibility of making the vital decision of who will be the next person to manage LFC. Ian Ayre has recently said the club are consulting with experts to help decide the next manager. The fans of this club have a right to know just who these experts are, this decision is vital to the success of the club and we cannot afford for the wrong decision to be made.
Which brings me on to my main point – I am concerned that the only experts being consulted are:

- Ian Ayre – great at increasing revenues, experienced enough to choose managers?
-Rick Parry – his legacy is the deal to sell to hicks & Gillett, not the best decision ever made.
- Alan Kayall.
- And Paul Tomkins

I am not for one minute suggesting Alan Kayall and Paul Tomkins are the sole influence on the ownership, but they do have the ear of the owners. So who are they?

Alan Kayall is a life long Liverpool FC supporter who was instrumental in setting up Kop Faithful and Spirit of Shankly. Which in turn led to the demonstrations and direct action which helped rid the club of Hicks & Gillett. Since the ownership of FSG he has been employed to be LFC correspondent for the FSG owned NESN http://www.nesn.com/alan-kayll/

What I want to know is why this man is anywhere near the ownership of Liverpool Football Club. As well as being part of the direct action which rid the club of the last ownership, he was also an influential member of The Liverpool Way website, a platform he used to spew his vitriolic and sometimes racist views. Also a place where his “internet terrorism” was put to good use when he set up the ART – Anti Rafa Taliban. How to John Henry and Tom Werner feel about being associated with someone who is happy to be part of a group known as the Taliban? It may just have been a harmless jest. So why don’t we have a look at the rest of Alan’s views from The Liverpool Way website?

Well we can’t. When Alan , known as ATK on the forum, got a hint that there may be a chance of some relationship with the owners, he asked the owners of The Liverpool Way to delete all of his posts so that he could not be shown up for what he really is. He almost succeeded, some remain:

Did someone mention a policy of buying British?

Tom Werner seems particular close to Mr Kayall:

Over the last 4 years Alan has criticised various people for the relationships they have with people within the club. A guy named Andy Heaton was one target for his relationship with one of Hicks & Gillet’s sons. Another long standing Liverpool fan John Mackin received vile abuse due to his relationship with Rick Parry and David Moores. Why does Alan Kayall now deem it acceptable to have such a relationship?
But more importantly why do the owners of Liverpool Football Club deem it acceptable to have a relationship with, and consider the views of, a BNP voting racist who has waged campaigns of abuse against sections of LFC support for some time? Why is this acceptable, what is Alan Kayall’s role? – it needs to be explained.
Paul Tomkins is an internet blogger/author who writes detailed summaries and analysis based on statistics. He has no experience what so ever in professional football, in any capacity. He also speaks for nobody but himself. Why is he anywhere near the ownership, or his opinion being given such credence? What is Paul Tomkins' role? – it needs to be explained.
Please pass this to any LFC supporter you know who is worried about the direction of the club, and worried about who is advising our ownership.
The ownership have set up a Supporters Committee, they should be using them!
If they want the views of fans, there is even the spirit of shankly or supporters clubs which have a large following,
So lets make them aware that they should be using the communications channels they have set up!
Post this in forums, send it to your contact lists, update social media and email the owners to let them know this is not acceptable.

An angry email has been sent to almost every LFC supporter group and website, plus the club itself, asking why I (amongst certain others) appear to be advising FSG. (I don’t know who the sender is.)
“Paul Tomkins is an internet blogger/author who writes detailed summaries and analysis based on statistics. He has no experience what so ever in professional football, in any capacity. Well, here it is.
Before John Henry bought Liverpool FC, he purchased several books on the club, to read up about its history. Two of those books just happens to be ones that I had written. Having enjoyed them, he asked to meet me shortly after the deal was completed. He spent a week trying to contact me via Facebook, but I assumed it was a prank and ignored him. Email proved more successful.
He was aware that I had spent five years writing a column for the club’s official website, and that I’d worked hard to forge a reputation for researching issues; even if people disagree with my opinion – and no-one is always right (particularly in football) – it came from a holistic approach that took in many disciplines.
I was not offered any kind of role – not least because I made it clear that due to my health and this website, I wasn’t interested in one – and I have never worked for FSG, or been paid a penny by them. Also, after what happened at Liverpool with Gillett and Hicks, I was not prepared to work for the club’s owners, even if, to me, they seemed cut from a different cloth.
The only ‘gift’ I have received was a package for my dad late last year, after he entered a hospice with terminal cancer (my dad’s dad played for Aston Villa, and John Henry asked Randy Lerner to send some signed Aston Villa merchandise.)
John Henry will occasionally contact me to help him understand something, or seek my advice on a certain issue, but the last time was back in March. FSG had already consulted several people about who would be best suited to run a review of the football side of things, and in particular, how Damien Comolli’s performance – as their football intermediary – could be judged. I wasn’t asked to perform that review, just to give my thoughts on the names who they’d had recommended – presumably provided by their actual advisors.
I have not been asked to provide any input on the managerial situation, although there is nothing to stop me providing my views, now that there is a vacancy. I am free to email John Henry any time I wish, and he’s free to ignore them!
I did not in any way, shape or form contribute to Kenny Dalglish losing his job, and those people accusing me of so doing are seriously out of line. If anyone thinks I’d dare advise against Kenny then they don’t know me, or indeed, what a total coward I really am; even if I believed that he had to be replaced – and I didn’t – I’d need a billion dollars, plastic surgery, a new identity and relocation to Brazil. He was my idol growing up, and I’d have no right to tell anyone to replace him (although no-one should be kept out of sentimentality, obviously, and it’s the owners’ prerogative to run the club as they see fit; I won’t always agree, but again, that’s football).
I don’t want to legitimise all this by giving it air, but seeing as it’s been sent far and wide, and that I’ve had all kinds of abuse on Twitter and via email, I thought it was best that I set the record straight.
Like any fan, I am not going to turn down my club if my opinion is sought, by owners interested in getting feedback from many sources. But I am not – and here I italicise – an advisor. The FSG style is to canvas the opinion of many and work with the wisdom of the crowd, and on top of that, they will have an inner circle of key people, of which I am not one.

i never really paid too much attention to tomkins , i thought he was just a blogger who wrote a piece for the official website , like a sort of 'view from a fan' thing. But he says he has written books also , are these popular or decent ?

And what do people think about Henry contacting him in the past for some perspective and advice ? People always want them to listen to the fans and in a way this is what they have been doing but that can obviously have pitfalls .

What's wrong with his health?

I'm being a little harsh to be fair mate. I seem to recall reading a few of his pieces and he seemed to mention it a bit, the problem is that i'd forget what the illness was by the time i'd finished the article.
