In Klopp I'm a believer.

Where the fuck is our manager's thread and why is no one talking about his snotty haram football?

Is the guy capable of motivating a group of players to play progressive/controlling/fluent/intense football or is he just a good tacticianal worker?

Every performance this season I've come away unsatisified - I don't even enjoy the build ups anymore, the results are the results but I've said all along we can't keep relying on luck or one piece of individual brilliance to bail us out which we saw against Bournemouth, Newcastle, Burnley, Atleti, Soton and Arsenal. Today our luck ran out and we came up against a side we couldn't match. Palace absolutely battered us in every aspect and the only thing we were lucky today, was to not get beat by 3 or 4.

Mac looks worse
Gakpo looks worse
Ibou looks worse
Kerkez looks worse
Frim looks worse
Wirtz looks worse
Isak looks worse
Salah looks worse
Jones looks......I'm pretty sure Jones could've played in the Brazil side of the 70s and look like Jones.

I was sufficiently annoyed by this loss that, since I was miserable anyway, I started doing some work. I'd suggest likewise.

This is hyperbole, imo.

But, as I said in another thread, he needs to stop playing favourites. Play the ones who are performing.

Fuck off. There is criticism, analysis and then there is whatever this abomination of a thread is.

Well ultimately it's a thread about his football being absolutely fucking shite and it being the same predicable 90min bollocks every week. Over half the players look worse but apparently he's not responsible for that so it's somehow not a talking point?

Couldn't even tell you what brand of football we play or what our identity is supposed to be, it's just shit.

We should have hired Amorim instead - so we could be more entertaining.

Tbh now that you’ve mentioned him, I’d probably rather watch him playing battleship on the bench than seeing whatever football we’re trying to play.

Well there’s you answer - try doing that for a while - see if it improves you mood.

Maybe give it a while and check in about June to let us know how you got on.

Last season, we did get progressively worse (whilst still winning). And then after losing our assistant manager, we hired a new assistant with a failed management career, and we've got even worse despite spending 400 odd million.

It's early days, and Ekitike looks fantastic and I've no doubt Isak will get a lot better (and I think much of his performance today was down to midfield failing to keep the ball or use him). But Wirtz, Kerkez and Frinpong have failed to impress. All deserve time, but to dismiss any concerns out of hand is naïve. Slot took over a very well coached team, with some world class players who know how to win games...

Whilst Slot obviously has earned time and trust, to dismiss the concerns completely is a mistake.

Lots of bedding in happening atm so he gets a lot of slack.

Hopefully another season of ‘transition’ can see us win another title as everyone else fails to take advantage.

Imagine what happens if we lose a second game? We really missed Ekitike. When you bring in seven new players, it’s natural for the team to go through a transition phase. Slot does bear responsibility, and he needs to focus on getting the team to gel.

Personally, I think we’ll struggle until Mac finds his form again—he’s the glue that holds this squad together.

I do think we look like we’re playing without a plan, limited ideas for how we’re going to control or win games and a massive lack of cohesion.

We made such sweeping changes to the most important part of the team when it comes to winning (scoring goals) by losing three attackers and we just need patience to see how we find the cohesion. If we do at all.

The annoying thing about patience however is that we did mega contracts for 2 players who probably won’t or shouldn’t be starters next season meaning we will be having to wait for those changes to bed in too.

'Arne Snot'? I'm new here but is the OP a verified LFC fan? It's a thread title you'd read on a Utd forum.

On Slot himself, he's obviously got work to do integrating the new players, though he's not helped by two or three existing key players having poor starts to the season. For me, that was always going to be the case and top of the league after 6 games tells me everything I need to know.

Gotta say I'm not a big fan of calling out individuals either. I'm not suggesting what he is saying is wrong (it's bang on( but I don't think he needs to go public with it, and be as vehement when he does. Thought he went publicly over the top with Hugo, and then again yesterday with Frimpong.

A big few weeks coming up.

I'd be concerned if I thought we were doing less well than I'd anticipated. The opposite is true - what we're doing is what champions do, namely leading the league despite not playing at our best. To say there are things we must improve is only fair, but anyone with an ounce of common sense would have known this season would start that way with half a new team to integrate. It's a time for questions, but not yet concerns IMO.

We haven't been at our best for a while now though, despite the results. It's ok saying we are winning while not playing well, champions do that for a spell, we've been serving up incomplete performances for pretty much the whole year and our flaws are obvious. We needed some fight yesterday, it was obvious early on, but Endo can't buy a sub appearance. Slot is stirring at the same shite expecting it to change. It isn't and it'll only get worse unless we buy defensive reinforcements in midfield and at centre half. It's also criminal we've bought a right back and currently Szobo is better than him and Bradley, they've both been an abomination.

The Frim's generally done ok in the games he started I thought - besides Soton (Palace in the shield, Atleti and Bournemouth), and piss poor in the games he's come on in whereas Bradley's done poor when he's started and looked better when he's come on.

Frim and Kerkez both have pace and energy in abundance and we've done terribly to take advantage and to maximise from that. Gakpo and Mo should be tucking in centrally to give them the space on the outside, not the other way round.....otherwise we've simply bought 2 players we don't have any real use for.

I guess as a counterbalance, I'd say Szobo is looking better / rejuvenated this season. Gravy has had some highs. Alisson is still fucking fantastic (please don't leave us ever!).

The recruitment in the summer, whilst exciting, was cause for some head scratching though and it seems to have brought with it as many problems as it has solutions.

Probably a broken record now but all we can do is cross our fingers and hope it all works out in the end.
