Arne Snot

Apart from winning the league, being one of the best teams in Europe last season, attracting great signings, the conversion of gravy. managing the three contract issues last year, the convincing wins every week, taking over from a generational manager, being a smart tactician, working well with our club, nurturing young talent, managing someone else's squad, and being a great personality for the club, what has Arne slot ever done for us?

I often get the thought that Slot doesn't really know what he's doing & is he a lucky manager rather than a good one?

How many shite first halves have we had under him, 75/80% of them?

When do we ever play really well/brilliant? You can count on one hand the brilliant performances under Slot. Spurs 4-0 League Cup semi was the peak.

We only ever play well in 20/30 minute patches in games & often that's because we're going for broke to get the result late on.

It nearly always feels like it's individual class that does it for us & not really anything to do with any great tactical win or a proper team performance.

He says about how we're a aggressive pressing team which i don't buy because we've seen in the recent past what one of those was. Maybe I'm setting standards too high there?

Our midfield completely disappears on a regular basis, what the fuck is that about? It struggles/fails to get hold of games & struggles to get the ball forward too in any meaningful way.

Does he really believe Cody Gakpo is the answer? I hope not.

It feels like we lack some creativity which is weird.

Hopefully it wasn't just a luck out last season but I'm not convinced by Slot.

My only objection here is you’ve referred to this manager as Slot and not Snot.

I would like to see us return to something closer to last season. A midfield of Macca, Gravy and Szoboszlai. Our best half of football all season came in the first half against Everton. That's currently our best team (Isak vs Hugo is up for debate).

I think we should (with exception of Hugo) just play the side of last year and make the new signings force their way in
With the way Mo, Gapko, Macca and Konate are playing?
I’m guessing bradders replaces Trent, and we hope Robbo doesn’t play like he did last year. What about Diaz? Who replaces him?

Ooh, ooh I got it.

We ask for a do-over on the transfer market. That’ll do it. Problem solved!

Mind you they might say no backsies which will scupper our plans.

Where the fuck is our manager's thread and why is no one talking about his snotty haram football?

Is the guy capable of motivating a group of players to play progressive/controlling/fluent/intense football or is he just a good tacticianal worker?

Every performance this season I've come away unsatisified - I don't even enjoy the build ups anymore, the results are the results but I've said all along we can't keep relying on luck or one piece of individual brilliance to bail us out which we saw against Bournemouth, Newcastle, Burnley, Atleti, Soton and Arsenal. Today our luck ran out and we came up against a side we couldn't match. Palace absolutely battered us in every aspect and the only thing we were lucky today, was to not get beat by 3 or 4.

Mac looks worse
Gakpo looks worse
Ibou looks worse
Kerkez looks worse
Frim looks worse
Wirtz looks worse
Isak looks worse
Salah looks worse
Jones looks......I'm pretty sure Jones could've played in the Brazil side of the 70s and look like Jones.
Fair post. Pretty spot on. Though it has one glaring omission which is telling. Can you guess which one? Who among the top and most valuable Liverpool players is not mentioned in that post and why? It is also not VVD who struggled against Palace.

Haha I did forget about Diaz you're right

But Gakpo was here, Bradley was here.

I remember Klopp taking his time to let new signings settle in unless they hit the ground running, maybe Slot should do the same

Quotes from Slot in September

“He doesn’t have the right build-up towards playing three games a week for 90 minutes, so it was always sure today that I would take him off after 60 minutes for him to be able to be back on the pitch again on Wednesday and for him to be on Saturday back on the pitch again.

“So, the combination of him being injured and me not wanting to lose the second substitution after 60 minutes led to it – and us not playing so well,”

Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister missed his side's dramatic 3-2 victory over Newcastle United in the Premier League because of a minor injury that is not expected to keep him out for long.

“He had to leave the training pitch two days ago and that would not even be the biggest problem if he would have had a proper pre-season," Slot continued. "But he missed out for so many weeks. "There is a reason why you go inside, because you probably feel something. That is the difficult balance to find with players that were out for so long in pre-season.

"There you bring the base for the whole season and you can see these intensity levels, like we faced last week and this topped it up 10 times, I think

This is what Ekitike thought! “I need more bedding in time - I know I’ll take my shirt off after I get my first yellow”

Would it be an abomination here to hypothetically consider what type of manager might work for this sort of Liverpool squad IF things are to prove themselves to not work out under Slot, which is of course too unlikely to be seriously considered, especially now. Or, in other words, what kind of manager from among the top football managers of modern football might Slot and the background staff seek to model their thinking by (is really what I mean and am talking about)?

Huh?
You want to know who Slot can copy?

He needs to stick Wirtz on the left as he's not bossing anything enough to be playing at no 10. Szoboszlai might not be the world's best ever no 10 but he is a leader on the pitch and played there a lot last year. He shouldn't be playing at right back.
And we need a proper DM in the middle of the park. We're all over the place. Play Endo ffs.
Double pivot with two number 8s instead of 6s. The area is vacated most of the time. Piss off with this pseudo tactical nonsense. Might as well stick a goalkeeper up top and the tea lady in nets.

----------------Isak
-------Wirtz---------Salah
----Gravenberch -----Szoboszlai
---------------Endo
Robertson--vanDijk--Konate--Bradley
---------------Becker
