Assanal, invincibles?

I still think people are writing off Man City too early, I think they are the biggest threat especially when Rodri comes back.
However, the Ass fans seem to think its their year. They're even saying they could go invincible. I heard one guy saying LFC would be lucky if its only a 4 goal difference to Assanal.
They have strengthen but they still only have 1 striker, Saka their other FWD, is injured. Ithink they've bought 8 players in, its going to be hard to integrate and will take time. I think they will finish behind City when injuries mount up as Arteta's style means they sustain more injuries

I doubt that Rodri is going to hit the ground running.

Arsenal will be our main challengers (broken record here - City have not replaced world class players with the same) and they may even head us going into 2026. We have more players to integrate and into a new system - that will take time but I'm confident that by January we'll be the stronger team and will overhaul them whilst also strongly challenging for the CL.

Of course some of that confidence is predicated on us securing both Isak and Guehi.

A criminally bad performance with a 95th min dodgy penalty winner for us would be great. Id love to absolutely turn them over though.

Think you mean a corner nodded in from 12 centimetres following Endo supplexing their keeper, with a VAR review recommending the ref check the monitor who then bafflingly refuses to change his decision after Slot innocently mutters something in his ear.

It doesn't surprise me that Arsenal are now tied with us with most Bookies (19) whilst the others (7) have Arse a whisker ahead (e.g 19/10 vs 2/1). City are miles back (between 4/1 and 5/1).

Honestly on Sunday - a WIN is a MUST for us, that team runs on confidence and belief that if they beat the likes of us they will think they should be the league winners. That is what happened 4 seasons ago when we lost in a long while at the Emirates the day that Diaz got assaulted by Partey. It was after that win they wen unbeaten for most of the season until the end when Saliba got injured. If we beat them - their heads will drop, also I don't think they are as solid in midfield as they were previously - that Zubimendi is a fucking little pussy.

We need to really beat them - and play for 90+ minutes like we did against them in the first half of the game at home last season where we battered the shit out of those cunts.

I think they have the best full and complete squad in the league. But really horrible and uninspiring tactics mostly designed to win FKs around the box and launch balls in at set pieces. It works however because their defence is solid.

It will be interesting to see how many times they come unstuck in this rather 1 dimension approach.

Also can we change the thread title? Proper small time

It could very well be their year, but they're speaking a lot considering they were outplayed by United and beat relegation fodder.
This: For a team who find new and interesting ways to NOT win the league, they really are a mouthy bunch of gobshites, aren't they.

I don't know why they're so confident of beating us... They've not looked much better than us to start the season.

I were an Arsenal fan i'd be confident. They haven't conceded yet and their specialism is set pieces. We have looked absolutely lost at sea defending set pieces. Perfect time for them to play us. It is also how they scored against us last season.

I thought they comfortably outplayed us last year but their manager had them sit back and was too cautious and that allowed us to relax and get into the game.

Their midfield beats ours last season, ours is not up and running this season, and theirs has improved.

There is every reason for them to be confident, except their lived experience for years.

Confident, yes. They're bloody good and there's no reason that they can't win the league this year. They should have won it last season. And maybe the one before, too.

But, like us until 2020, it's been donkey's years since they actually have so they need to STFU until they actually do.

Apprehensive about the game as we’re a bit of a mess defensively right now, the teams looks unbalanced and I’m not sure we know for certain what our best 11 is as some of the new lads have yet to settle.

It is however at Anfield, so you’d expect us to be front footed and competitive.

It’s at Anfield. I’ll be shocked if we don’t put in a vastly different performance from the first two.

Arsenal have lost key players.

I totally agree - i think we will actually smash - I cannot see us performing like we have done in the last two games, the players and coaching staff know it is not acceptable. We will be properly up for it, the fans in the stadium will be, and they are going to get the beating of their Arteta lives the cunts.

Haha what are you on mate?! 20 points at one time if memory serves (forget our dismal extended celebration tour). That's not bad luck or deserving of the title !

I mean, theoretically, they should have been better prepared and ready than anybody, including us, to take advantage of the cheats coming back to the pack... I didn't say we were lucky. We weren't. But when all things were considered at the start of last season, they should have been better bets to win it than we were.

Arsenal fans are the absolute masters of talking unwarranted egregious self fellating horseshit. This is no comment on their team, who for me don't offer much more than last season, but they're at least stable, and could sneak a title due to Man City going awol under Peps journey of self discovery, and whilst we come to terms with our first team overhaul, but any words from the mouth of an Arsenal fan I'd treat with the vehement disdain it deserves.

I don't dislike them, theoretically.

Then, the moment I encounter them, or their fans, or their ex-players talking about them, or especially that fucking manager, I realize again that I feckin' (sports) hate them.

Shithouse, bottling players, like Xhaka literally costing them the title an Anfield, 'coz he wanted to play the tough guy.
