Keep Phillips in
Start Jota

Win this and the group is done.

Rhys Williams will start this imo ... Although I think Klopp will now think about Phillips vs Matip vs Man City.

Becker

TAA
RWilliams
Gomez
Robbo

Milner
Hendo (Gini on after 45)
Shaq

Jota
Fimino (give him some UCL games as he shouldn't be started with Mo/Mane next game)
Origi

Origi

Start Salah,Mane & Jota, Give Frimino a rest... Shaqiri, Jones Gini, agree with the back four and keeper put it to bedd first half 3-0

Take of both Salah,Mane,Jones for Minamino,Origi and Milner,

Push Shaqiri wide right and Origi Left Play Minamino behind the front three

I wouldn't count Matip out for this one.
This is what Klopp said about Matip before the West Ham game:

Oct 28: "If it was the last game of the season, I think, probably, but we play three days later again. We cannot use them on the first day of being fit. They need a proper build-up."

Would hope that on of Thiago or Matip is able to get some minutes in this ahead of being ready for the City game (do we think Matip could be back for that?).

------------Alisson--------------
TAA---Rhys---Gomez--Robbo
---------Gini---Milner---------- Keep Hendo fresh for City
-------------Shaq----------------
Salah-----Minamino----Jota

Would be good to see Matip get some playing time in this to be ready for City. Same with Thiago.

Jota and Shaq to start.

He either plays the same side as he wants to play against City, to get them in 'rhythm' & get some momentum.

Or, equally as compelling, he rests as many of those he wants to play against City as possible, knowing we can afford to drop points against Atalanta & still qualify.

Normally I'd say the former would be his choice, but gjven the injury issues this season I suspect we may see the latter.

Then I start thinking about the way Atalanta play, with loads of pressing & attacking & think it's the ideal warm up game for City, so fuck knows.

In an ideal World without a million games I'd say that would be the best option to get ready for City. But given our injuries and how close the games are, I think we'll see rotation. We got 5 days to recover for City though, thats good.

I think with the 5 subs rule he will start Matip and Thiago. Get minutes under their belts and take them off at 45/60. Up front Shaqiri and Jota to start. I’m not sure on the rest of the team.

If Matip is fit, why would you select two guys with potential. Matip is very good in the air something Gomez isn't

[article]And Klopp’s squad has been boosted by Keita and Matip joining their teammates at Melwood following Saturday’s Premier League win over West Ham United, though Thiago Alcantara did not feature in the session.[/article]

Seriously fuck Everton.

Atalanta are not a big name but they are a good side, theres no way we are fielding a weak side and strolling to a 3-0 lead. This will be a tough game and in the context of City at the weekend Id happily rotate a few players and take a valauble away point.

Read up a little on Atalanta.

They play with a fluid 3-5-2 and are generally a really attacking side, prioritising goals above defensive security. Similar up us their central attackers drop deep to pull CBs out of position and to create space in behind. The strikers generally do not track back and stay high up the pitch. Their wing backs also push very high.

We should certainly have space on the counter. It's going to be extremely testing for a young CB pairing. Sounds like it could easily be a high scoring, entertaining and match. We have a far more effective forward line who will have space so I think we'll win 1-3.

You’ve made me confident than usual. 27-6 win to us.

Matip is so fucking unreliable, yet so important against City, that I think even if he wanted to go with the same side he will against City that he'll leave Matip out just in case.

I all ways feel that if you fielded a weaker side and end up having to chase the game those players you bring on have more of a chance of picking up an injury by over stretching etc because they are trying too hard. That is why I am saying that we should play Salah and Mane from the start, alomg with Jota,Shaqiri and Jones, Get a good lead then rest them...

Good if they can

Problem with matip is that he takes a while to play himself into form again, makes me nervous of protecting him too much
