I realise this is mentioned in a few threads - thought it rated one of its own.

Moyes didn't deny they were in for him as a Giggs/Shrek replacement. Would be a hammer blow if Spurs go down this route, and I assume this is not a real option. I assume this is a combination of Levy / RM posturing and Scum testing the water.

No chance of Bale to United. If the fee is anything above £80m then United won't be buying him but I reckon this is all part of the game that see Bale go to Madrid for about £90m and Ronaldo go to United for about £60m.

I'd rather United got Bale than Ronaldo though.

United want Ronaldo and know Madrid will have to offload him if they buy Bale. United are just trying to force Madrid's into action.

Why would Real Madrid offload Ronaldo to buy Bale????? (other than they are mad feckers)

I can't be bothered/don't know how to find my post, but I called this at the start of the summer. And I still think he could well join them.

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa?

United to cough up 125 million for Bale. No way this is happening anyway.

I would love it now if Madrid played hardball; force United into admitting they can't afford Bale and give Spurs accountant a nervous breakdown. As Woland suggested over the weekend, if Bale was to somehow pick up an injury now that would keep him out for a few months it would be most amusing.

Yeah right, this is another in a long line of leaked bids this summer intended to link a club with a major signing without having any possibility of it happening. Utd want to look like they are competing at the top end of the transfer market for the best talents in the world when in reality they are low balling Everton for a couple of average players.

Real are not selling Ronaldo either, hes their marquee player and Bales arrival isnt going to change that, I expect the will recoup some of the Bale fee from Ozil, DiMaria and Coentrao who are all being pushed towards the exit.

Well put it this way. According to Sky, an English club have made a bid for him. Now, we can assume that it's not City or Chelsea (as they surely can't have any money left to spend), or Arsenal (as they couldn't afford that, and would know Spurs would never sell to them), so surely that only leaves the scum?

The only thing I'd be iffy about, is how would they match the supposed 300k per week that RM offer? Ok, selling Rooney would help a great deal. And they have like a bazillion sponsorship deals. But it still seems a bit out of their league.

The story going around Old Trafford last night was that Slur Alex has spoken to Ronaldo sounding him out about an immediate move back! This of course could be Chinese whispers but I wouldn't be surprised if Ferguson was getting involved as a United "Ambassador".

We are in need of an left sided attacking midfielder after all I guess.
Some statement of intent.

The most likely scenario to me seems that the story has come from the Spurs camp to give them a bit of leverage in the negotiations with Real.
