So we seem to be flashing the cash and going the last mile to get Dalgmoli's preferred targets.

Assuming Baines is indeed our preferred left back option, how much would you spend to have a possibly Scousetastic back four next season?

If he's really our number 1 choice, can we go as far as a 20m bid? Should we?

Yeah I reckon we should, we would have paid more than that for Coentrao and Baines is premier league proven!
 
We won't be having another transfer window like this so get Baines if he is indeed our no.1 target.

The stadium will be back on the agenda soon.

He's contracted for another four years so they have him locked up if they want. Depends how much they are financially fucked I guess.
 
Everton might have no choice they are skint and have a weak squad so 15 million would be very useful to them.

I was thinking of starting a similar thread last night.

I'd love him at us, he's my first choice for the left backs we possibly might shell out for. I don't think Everton would listen to anything we had to offer.

£15-20m is worth a blast though.

I don't think we should spend that amount of money on a left back when we have Johnson, Kelly etc who can play there.

Yes, but its not their specialist position is it. I want to see the back of players 'doing-a-job' in a position that isn't their natural one. We've had far too much of that over the years. A left-back isnt a position to mess about with, Leighton Baines would be a top drawer acquistion for us I feel.
His delivery from deep alone would give Carroll more chances to bag.

Lol..- don't think our owners that rich. It's not a play thing for them. They very much mean to make money out of this business by creating value. You don't do that by dropping 20 million here and 25 million there...
