I just believe that there are some skills that can't be taught, like close control.
I'm not sure that was cos of injuries or form-related stuff, probably more cos he is absolutely fucking shite.
Sturridge had how many starts this past 6 months? If you're good enough, you should be showing it almost every game ... He isn't. I find it odd how all of you ignored the fact only west ham and newcastle were interested in him. Not Spurs, not Arsenal, not Manure, not Chelsea, not City, not one big foreign club (bar Monaco I guess?) ... If he was as good as some of you guys are making it out to be - even the 'potential' to be that good - he'd have gone to a bigger club for the same fee WHU are paying. He isn't.
He was fucking unplayable for 90% of the time he was at the club, either because he injured himself in the pub, or he playing like he was doing an impression of Emile Heskey wearing a blindfold
Not good enough, as was evident after 6 months, we have gained nothing by holding onto him for another 2 years

Had Juve been of the same opinion they'd probably sold Thierry Henry on the cheap after just a handful of matches - regretting ever since.
Loads and loads of players needs time to settle, to adjust to the new surroundings, etc.. For me the Coutinhos, Sturridges and Michus of this world are the exceptions to the rule and what these guys actually have in common are that the pressure on them to perform were quite slim as only few knew them good, they were rather cheap, etc., compared to the GIGA pressure on the most expensive player ever.
Look how Torres have fared at Chelsea. Gone from extremely good to extremely poor in a week. Pressure. Uncertainty. New surroundings. Etc.
Maybe you are right with Carroll, that he'll never be good enough, but I am not buying for one second that he has had enough time. That's just plain wrong.

For me his performance against Chelsea in the final was as much evidence as you'll ever need to see that when on form, when trusted, Carroll can be quite brilliant.
Again, no need to carry this on, you guys loathe him and are glad to get rid. Fair does. I still believe he could become a top striker, but only time will tell.
Remind me again who went after Henry? Ah yes, a TOP TEAM ... No top teams were touching Andy Carroll ... It says a lot Kris, regardless of anything you say. That is very telling.

You are aware that there are a risk that one of the players that started out like thunder and lightning could suddenly fade again right? One Seasons wonders are a real thing just as much as slow starters are.
And no matter how you address this matter I won't agree that he's gotten amble support an time in Liverpool. 13 starts mate.
I am not even sure Lucas had made a successful pass to a teammate after his first 13 appearances.
Carroll has the ability to become a good striker but his mindset and application when at Liverpool didn't help him.
I'm glad he was sold because he simply didn't fit our pass and move philosophy.
The difference is, as ever, we only see them on the pitch. Lucas, for all his dodgy start, may well have been tearing up Melwood in training. It's difficult to imagine Andy Carroll being particularly good in training. So whilst on the surface it might seem that Carroll didn't get much of a chance, he may not have actually been doing anything inbetween matches to deserve a chance.
Carroll's a potentially frightening player in the right team/system.
That team definitely isn't us under Rodgers.
We don't need to hate him for it, just move on. There's enough to be excited about at the moment in our transfer business without dwelling on past mistakes.

It is pretty speculative, but it's also a judgement based on very little evidence to say he didn't get a fair chance.
Lad, big Andy Carroll is not our sweet no.9 anymore. His blowing bubbles at the Hammers. Take that chip off your shoulder and move on.

Liverpool Football Club have confirmed that Andy Carroll has completed a permanent transfer to West Ham United.
The striker spent the duration of the 2012-13 campaign on loan with the Hammers, scoring seven goals in 24 appearances.
Carroll joined Liverpool from Newcastle United on transfer deadline day in January 2011.
In total, he played 58 games for the Reds and scored 11 times.
Everybody at Liverpool FC would like to wish Andy all the best for the future.
