It's hard to believe when you look back, but players that played for teams when they had money who would have never been there otherwise are legion.

Blackburn had Shearer.
Middlesborough had Mendietta and Ravanelli.
Glenn Hoddle played for Swindon Town!

Lombardo and Crystal Palace.

Lineker and Everton

Everyone from Vialli onwards and Chelski.

Could throw Newcastle in with Shearer as well, and Juninho with Boro.

Ruud Gullit at Chelsea.

Went there looong before the Abramovich era, and played in front of 20,000 supporters alongside Eddie Newton, Scott Minto and Frank Sinclair.

I found Dugarry going to Birmingham well fucking weird at the time.
Also Djorkajeff going to Bolton.

Didn't Ravanelli score in the European cup final before joining Boro?
That's some culture shock in a couple of months.
From the Versace scarves to a teesside hotpot.

Yeah. I remember that being weird. Juve won the European Cup then immediately sold their two strikers 'The White Feather' and Vialli. Very odd.
