Bite, Nibble, Munch and Chomp

what is there to get upset about ? It may not be the most mature thing to do and he obviously deserves criticism but in the grand scale of things and what's going on in the world it's not exactly the biggest deal .

And people bang on like he's got some deep psychological disorder and needs lots of help or locking up . Does he have a drink or drug issue , does he gamble uncontrollably , does he beat his missus , does he abuse kids , does he suffer depression , anxiety , is he not taking his meds ? . No . He plays with too much emotion and acts like a child on a football pitch when he gets angry .

He may be a dick on a football pitch but so what .

If I bit you three times would your reaction be "so what, there's lot of worse things going on in the world?". Shut the fuck up.

The only thing more predictable than that retard biting another hum for the third time, is his apologist fanclub jumping up to defend his pitiful actions?

"It may not be the most mature thing to do"

He has bitten 3 different men. That's not what normal people do, you know that don't you?

actually i didn't , it's taken some fuckwit on the internet to educate me , cheers boss .

Hoddle described it like the worst thing you can do on the pitch, so I get what Redzep is trying to say.
It is a big deal though, considering that it's the third time he's done it.

He is going to do silly things like this - it is the price of a true genius. We all know how magical and excited he gets on the pitch - and it sets him apart from the robotic mega-training drilled unnatural talents that are Messi and Ronaldo. Don't get me wrong I don't agree with it but I half expect him to do something like this in every game he plays. It will cost us in terms of transfer value - as the other big teams will say things like " Ok.. we take mental case off your books you pays 12M Euros". It is a pity as the team need him (i.e. Uruguay) and I was hoping they would reach the final to beat Brazil....again and traumatize that nations footballers so that they will realize what a shit team they have put out.

Getting back to Suarez - don't be so dramatic some of you. Zidanne also use to have his moments - in 98 he deliberately stamped on a player, and we all know what he did in the final with his head. Then you have Maradona who would cheat to win a game. Suarez is a winner and he is ours.

zidane was a cunt too, people always say that no player is bigger than the club but it certainly fucking seems like suarez is

It'd be a normal way if he saw red and tried to chop someone on half with a tackle. He's abnormal, fascinating, a terrific story, but I don't find it morally reprehensible, it's just a hilarious bestial oddity.

Now is not the time for anyone's tears, but they will flow. And of course, it's very naughty indeed.

what about when he does something like this again? cause of course he will, he's not right in the head, what then? we have a world class 200k a week striker sitting off at home cause he's banned for a year and we dont have any money to get anyone else in, if we dont sell him he'll just get suspended eventually anyway

He's quite obviously insane.

I have no qualms about a lengthy ban, because, let's be honest, he's bitten 3 (THREE!) different people. I've never bitten a person in my life, most people never will.

However, the hyperbolic twits in the media should look no further than those on which they lash adulation. Ending a person's career intentionally, elbowing someone every other week, breaking legs, punch ups, etc... None of them get the press this (and spitting) does for whatever reason. I think it's some sort of cultural thing. It's as if flagrantly and more seriously injuring your opponent is... well... more BRITISH, and these snide little harmless bites are devious and underhanded. It's like those who have an obsession with diving rather than more pressing issues within the game.

"not right in the head" , "quite obviously insane " ....the good psychologists of SCM have spoken .

You were the dickhead you initially suggested that "it's not the most mature thing to do" and then followed it up with this gem:

"in the grand scale of things and what's going on in the world it's not exactly the biggest deal"

So you're not really in a position to be judging others are you?

This is the nub of it.

Good honest British thuggery is fine, nasty sneaky (tbh, gay) cheating is reprehensible.

I'd be much more accepting of the outrage if it was extended to all bad behaviour. But it's not, so fuck it, I'm laughing it up.

So you really think this is a major big deal ?

It's so weird that imo it needs an unorthodox punishment, give him the hefty international ban or whatever but he should probably be forced into some sort of anger management or psychological help too in lieu of part of the ban. He's not right.

Or make him wear a really spongey gum shield.

Agreed, but...

When do "breaking legs, punch ups, ending careers" etc get brushed under the carpet??

Not brushed under the carpet, per se, but shrugged off and don't incite the national, and international, outrage that this has caused. Look at what Keane did to Haaland. Much, much worse than all of Suarez's bites combined (Just look at that sentence. lol), yet he's still lauded as a footballing hero.

Fellaini to a lesser extent, too. That fucker elbows someone every week. It's only a matter of time before someone gets seriously injured. Yet nobody does anything about it. And don't get me started on Duncan Ferguson who is actually deified for punching and strangling etc people on the football pitch.

Some fucker broke my nose and eye socket, intentionally, when I played footy once and he got a yellow card. Yet what Suarez did is "the worst thing you can do on a football pitch". Give me a nibble on the arm any day.

So a pretty good gauge on this, and most things, is to ask yourself what you'd think of this guy if he played for someone else?

You wouldn't be excusing him, you wouldn't be comparing it to other incidents to write it off, you'd just think he was a fucking dick who had something seriously wrong with him.

There is. He's fucked. Stop jumping to immediate defence default, and take a step back. He has bitten men on a football pitch 3 times. That's not normal, that's the act of a complete fucking moron. Imagine your son/brother/mate did that on a football pitch for the third time, you'd be having a fucking word. You wouldn't be standing there talking about how there are worse thing happening in the world, or about Alfe Inge Haaland. You'd be standing there thinking, Christ I'm related to (or mates with) a fucking tool.

And I don't buy this "yeah but he's our nutter" shit either, cos that just opens you up to excusing practically anything, and more importantly it makes you look like a naive, ignorant fool. What level of abnormality does he have to get to for you to actually stop excusing him? Cos if biting men on 3 different occasions isn't it, then I'm lost as to what is. If he played for fucking any other side in the world, you'd be calling this exactly like it is.

Alright he does have a thing about chomping and biting and nibbling and munching people. Maybe the solution is he should be muzzled when he plays. That should stop him having his meal on the field. But ban him for life? Seriously you cannot be serious.

One thing I do know. Those who hate him are now really happy!

He's obviously touched, but then he has passion I don't think is matched in world football either.

He didn't draw blood, and I've played with players (and I'm sure we all have) who go out every week to injure and hurt the opposition, whether it be stamping, off the ball elbows or whatever. It is most definitely not the worst thing in football.
If anything it's strange, hard to explain and most of all sad as it overshadows a world class talent.

How much longer are we going to defend his actions? It's an absolute disgrace. He is 27 and bitten someone for a 3rd time! He is tarnishing the LFC name and putting us in the headlines for the wrong reasons.

No excuses, beat thing we can do is hope barca come in with an offer of money and Sanchez, we take it and run.

Seriously , i am a bit confused . Am i not allowed to say i don't think that what happens on a football pitch is the worse thing ever in the world ? How does that mean i am excusing him ? I was just trying to put it in a bit of context considering everyone is losing their heads over this. And it was a response to your original post questioning why people are laughing this off , i'm not but again it's an event on a football pitch , i am not going to get too worked up about it .

And i am not allowed to believe that incidents on a football pitch don't mean you have a deep psychological issue ? . Again i am not excusing him but surely there is a difference between seeing the red mist on a football pitch and other psychological issues people have in their everyday lives (bi-polar , real anger issues , Schizophrenia etc) . By all accounts he's a nice guy off the pitch , he doesn't seem to have problems with this sort of thing in his personal life . Again i am not saying that we just forget about it or excuse it , it's something he needs to address especially considering it's how he earns his living .

Anyway the question is now , where do we go from here ? if you believe strongly enough that we have to sell him or sack him off then fair enough but that is easier said than done when you look at is from a business point of view .

Clearly breaking a leg and the wanton damage some players inflict on others is far worse but gets less condemnation. It's just this is such a good news story because it's bizarre, and funny.

I don't buy into the moral indignation. There's far worse things you could do.

I say this not because he's our player but because it's completely harmless. The worse that can happen is that kids will imitate it, and so far, no cases really. Unless the referee decapitations in Brazil last year were related. Now that's an actual problem!

This is a merely a sideshow.
