Bite, Nibble, Munch and Chomp

We'll bloody appeal as well. I assume to CAS. How the fuck can a player at an international tournament get banned for a domestic league. Utter shite.

Yep, I think so aswell. We probably have a decent case since he wasnt playing for Liverpool when it happened.

If its till end of Oct, he'll be missing 9 EPL matches!

Luis Suarez: Liverpool have won 47.7% of their 107 PL games with Suarez starting and 61.9% of the 21 without him since signing in 2011 #LFC

And 3 Champions leauge games!!

If I'm any fucking club that's me never releasing a player for international duty again. Absolute abomination of a decision. Uruguay FA will appeal and there's no fucking chance Liverpool sits idly by and watches this happen. What a fucking nightmare.

Just sell.
Whats the point of keeping him at this stage.
9 games this year
10 games last year
9 games the year before.
Hes a fucking nightmare.

Christ, the woman announcing it was so tetchy! It was also rather unfortunate, yet apt, that she pronounced 'disciplinary committee' as 'disciplinary comedy'.

That's true but I'm sick of the unnecessary hassle surrounding him. Also all the media shite - "the return of Suarez"

I'm not worried tbh mate - our team did ok without our major players missing whenever last year. It's a proper team, with a few strong acquisitions, we'll be ok without him.

The references to those sections doesn't make any sense unless I'm looking at totally different articles than Fifa are.

Can someone copy and paste them

[article=http://www.fifa.com/worldcup/news/y=2014/m=6/news=luis-suarez-suspended-for-nine-matches-and-banned-for-four-months-from-2386354.html]The FIFA Disciplinary Committee has reached a decision in the case related to Luis Suárez of Uruguay following an incident that occurred during the FIFA World Cup™ match between Italy and Uruguay played on 24 June 2014.

The FIFA Disciplinary Committee has decided that:

· The player Luis Suárez is regarded as having breached art. 48 par. 1 lit. d of the FIFA Disciplinary Code (FDC) (assault), and art. 57 of the FDC (an act of unsporting behaviour towards another player).

· The player Luis Suárez is to be suspended for nine (9) official matches. The first match of this suspension is to be served in the upcoming FIFA World Cup™ fixture between Colombia and Uruguay on 28 June 2014. The remaining match suspensions shall be served in Uruguay’s next FIFA World Cup match(es), as long as the team qualifies, and/or in the representative team’s subsequent official matches in accordance with art. 38 par. 2a) of the FDC.

· The player Luis Suárez is banned from taking part in any kind of football-related activity (administrative, sports or any other) for a period of four (4) months in accordance with art. 22 of the FDC.

· A stadium ban is pronounced against the player Luis Suárez in accordance with art. 21 of the FDC as follows: the player Luis Suárez is prohibited from entering the confines of any stadium during the period of the ban (point 3). The player Luis Suárez is prohibited from entering the confines of any stadium in which the representative team of Uruguay is playing while he has to serve the nine-match suspension (point 2).

· The player Luis Suárez is ordered to pay a fine in the amount of CHF 100,000.

The decision was notified to the player and the Uruguayan FA today.

“Such behaviour cannot be tolerated on any football pitch, and in particular not at a FIFA World Cup when the eyes of millions of people are on the stars on the field. The Disciplinary Committee took into account all the factors of the case and the degree of Mr Suárez’s guilt in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Code. The decision comes into force as soon it is communicated,” said Claudio Sulser, chairman of the FIFA Disciplinary Committee.[/article]

Thank god fifa took care of the great moral outrage of this world cup. I'll be able to go on with my life now. I'm still shaken up though.

He cant even train with the team for 4 months?? He'll be back fit in December.

What a joke. They surley have to appeal this. Punishing the club for something like this is insane.

I would have presumed that meant he couldn't work in football in any capacity. Rather than not be able to change teams

FIFA is vague about it. Uruguayan media is interpreting it as banned from any football related negotiations... At any rate, they're making noises that the Barca deal can't possibly go through this summer.
