Imagine getting riled up by women's football.
Got to go down as one of the worst penalty shootouts in history.
I wasn’t even planning to care. This was the first game I bothered watching.
But that penalty shootout?
So embarrassing, it somehow managed to piss me off.
Both teams were shocking in the penalty shootout and I swear both keepers were off their line at least once each.
VAR was none existent today. The RB should have had a red in the first half for a elbow to the face.
Physical, mad game comparable to league 2 standard football.

yea the penalties were abysmal, 6 out of 14 scored and the keepers aren’t even good. strangely the first england pen was actually really good, did not set the tone at all.
Women’s football has come on leaps and bounds. I respect that and I hope it continues. With more money being invested into the Women’s game - Olivia Smith transfer as an example - I can see it accelerating technically, a lot quicker than the Men’s game did when Trevor Francis moved to Forrest, as the knowledge is there.
However, at the same time, things should be called out for what they are and that was awful.
The penalties were poor, 5 scored out of 14. The Swedish keeper almost dived past the one. Two are now satellites, orbiting the earth with Waddles pen from 1990 and Kepa’s from the Final.
I rate Lauren James as a player but she walked up, took and missed her penalty and walked back as if it was nothing.

There were about 5 tackles in the game that would have been red cards in the men's game.
I never thought the Olympic final between Canada and Sweden could be topped.
You could feel it going that way when the GK stepped up to take the 5th pen.
Feel for the young kid who took the last one.
Yeah, we had at least two more experienced players who should have been ahead of her.
Woeful pens but pressure is a bitch. Felt sorry for the 18 year old at the end.

Thought 19 yo Agyemang kept her cool for the equaliser. Some would have smashed it straight at the keeper, or even wide..
