Happy. Although i wanted Martinez and he's inexperianced at top level he plays good football and has time on his side so ticks all the boxes for me.

Could be great, but there's other managers out there, that would have had me dancing on the ceiling.

Tbf my excitement depends on which players he signs and how we look in pre-season.
I hope he gives reserve players like Suso a chance and has a serious look at McLaughlan.

I voted Meh, but mainly because it's all a bit of the unknown, I'm excited that we're starting afresh. I just hope we have the capacity to attract and keep big players.

Im happy it's all over and I'd definitely have taken Rodgers over Martinez. Dave Whelans made the whole process an embarrassment. Lets get behind Rodgers and hope for the best. I suppose thats all we can do.

I dont think I'll be able for another summer of appointing a mid table manager and the signing of a player of Koncheskys quality though.

I think I'm happy with a wee bit of excitement thrown in there.

I think the real poll should be "Who in SCM has been to Carnlough?"

I'd feel more excited about it if we appoint a sexy Football Director (ie. LVG) too.

That said, Rodgers had Swansea playing a lot of sexy football last year with a bunch of unknowns and shows a lot of potential. More so than most managers that have been mentioned, he's going to need time and patience from the fans to implement his way of playing. I'd be happy enough if we're top 6 next year but showing clear signs that we have an attacking footballing philosophy that needs time to bed in.

It'll be really interesting to see:
1) Whether he encourages our better youngsters (Sterling, Suso etc) to cement a place in the squad (by picking them)
2) Whether he ships out older players/those not suited to a high-tempo passing/pressing game.
3) Who he brings in. Will he raid Swansea for the likes of Allen (goodbye Adam) or has he other bigger name targets in mind?
4) How his appointment fits in with FSG's overall plan. Are we about to embark on a soccernomics/moneyball adventure and target a raft of 20-22 year old potential stars (might well fit well with Rodgers recent exploits at Swansea)?
5) If LVG (or someone of similar ilk), how Rodgers deals with having a big name over him (he might welcome an emphasis on coaching without other distractions).

I had other candidates in mind and Rodgers feels like a bit of a punt, but you can't argue his appointment isn't intriguing.

Relatively happy and let's give him a bit of support. I'm more interested in the incomings and outgoings of the players. Hopefully LvG has his eyes on the upcoming stars of the Euros.

It might be better if you stopped saying that.
A man can dream can't he?

I know so little of this Rodgers chap that all I'm judging him by is his looks.

Mostly the nose really.... Paisley-like

As long as we give him time im happy.... we cannot change manager again for a good while IMO it was getting silly.

I would have prefered a big name etc but if they are going the up and coming route then im fine with Rodgers....

Put it this way i didnt want rafa sacked and thought it was mental to get Roy in and was pissed of.... i wasnt happy Kenny was sacked but im not overly upset about Rodgers

The only objection i have is the appearances side of it... going for a realtive unknown having sold your best players for the last few years.... we could do with a big signing.

Yes, but your dreams always end up as wishful thinking shite.

Or, just shite.

Happy. He was always someone I thought might be worth the gamble, and I much preferred him to AVB and Martinez.
Fair play - you did say that. I'm not giving you a 'like' though - Four in one post and it will surely go to your head 😉

Engorged and ready for the new season.
This may or may not work, but as a philosophy i love it. As a way forward I agree with it. And as a man i support him totally.
There isnt an overnight success guarantee of course but I have patience and want to see those mongy fans give this man time.
Forza Brendan.

Haven't been keeping up with this at all, as I figured I'd forego the bazillion pages of speculation and wait until it was a done deal.

It *is* a done deal, right? That's what the radio said.

So . . . anyways, back on point - I feel like "what should I feel?"

I honestly know next to nothing about this guy. Swansea played some pretty decent stuff last year didn't they? Seem to remember they got some decent results against big sides, or am I making that up?

So I guess that's kind of promising, but I don't know.

What should I feel?

Can someone from the for and against camp try and persuade me (and can the rest of yous leave off of the hater and not slate them for being negative or backing the manager, I just wanna hear the pros and cons)

Oh and he better not put on any more weight. Hes borderline fat cunt, so hes gonna have to work the fuck out to keep me rigid.
