Order must be restored. The smooth lovely Viking balls must resume charge of our journey to the Champions league and climb up the table.
Brentford have looked good after the restart and will be up for this game. Looks like their talisman Toney will miss the game. This could have a very negative impact for them.

We didnt look particularly good yesterday but a win is a win. Short turnaround will result in some changes to the team. I’d go:

Alisson
Trent Konate Virgil Kostas
Keita Fabinho Thiago
Salah Firmino Darwin

Yep, that team picks itself after the Leicester shambles.

Is it confirmed Firmino is available for this? He was not on the bench against Leicester, so there's a good chance he won't be ready for a starting role 3 days later? If not I'd probably give Carvalho some minutes over Chamberlain and stick Nunez down the middle.

Isn’t it his work permit that we are waiting on in addition to the FA’s clearance which happens after the next squad submission date for the upcoming game?

Firmino confirmed himself that he was back in training on Thrursday. Said the Leicester game was to soon but should be fine for Brentford.

"I’m already healed, thank God," Firmino said to talkSPORT. "I’ll probably train tomorrow. Then all being well I’ll be ready not for the next game [Leicester] but the one after that [Brentford]. So all great.”

He said all that in English? That will be the miracle to thank God for.

I'm not sure Thiago will be up to it after the colossal effort yesterday.

Hendo or Ox to play.

I much as I despise the bastard, our midfield really needs something different. Keita or bajcetic

I'm loathed to put any faith in Keita, it seems like we're just flip flopping between so-so players, and that a change is as good as the rest. Bajcetic has a future with us and probably deserves it more, but it's a bit of a two anchor situation when you play him and Fabinho, typical! He does have a bit about him though, so can perhaps play the central midfield role, he's adept at defending so would hopefully give us that added protection we're lacking. The issue is whether we then get enough attacking support from the three. Keita can do one though, he's fucking dire.

For me, I think Bajcetic is smart enough to be a 6/8. Similar to hendo a few years back when partnered with fabs, or gini. All you need is awareness and physicality fr our midfield; which has sorely been lacking for a while. Hopefully he gets more minutes; just hope we don't burn him out

I’d agree about the 8 position and actually think he’d flourish there for now with his energy, pressing and quick mind.

For now I think he’s a little too raw positionally for the 6.

Agree with that. 100% could see him dropping further back as he gets older. Know he started as a CB, so CB>6>8>6>CB could very well be the career path

We need to make a few adjustments. I think Konate defo needs to come in, and if the paper work gets done Gakpo must start. Oxlade is a passenger and any further involvement is ludicrous.

If we also assume Robbo won’t start:

Alisson
Trent Konate Virgil Tsimikas
Bajcetic/Naby Fabs Thiago
Salah Nunez Gakpo

Good news if Bobby is also available.

He seems to struggle on the LCM position but would give him a go above Ox again on the LWF if Bobby is not back. Feels like worth another go.
