The draw takes place on Thursday 28th August at 4.45 p.m. BST

One from each pot will be drawn into eight groups of four, with the restriction that teams from the same association cannot be drawn against each other.

In each group, teams will play against each other home and away in a round-robin format. The group winners and runners-up will advance to the round of 16, while the third-placed teams will enter the 2014–15 UEFA Europa League round of 32.

If Arsenal qualify, aren't they supposed to be in Pot One (or at least Pot Two) because of their coefficients stuff? I don't think the manner a club qualifies (directly or through the playoffs) affect which pot a team lands in.

Anyway, I expect Man U to get a piss-easy group draw again.

Why do Porto go into Pot 1, when they had to play a qualifier last night to get through. But Arsenal go into pot 4 if they get through tonight (after a qualifier)

Surely Arsenal have a better ranking than even us, as they have consistently qualified for the CL year on year? They should be in Pot 2 or 3 easily.

I actually don't think we'll do that badly in terms of ball possession against Barca and Bayern (or chasing the ball all fucking night like you said). We may get sliced though at the back, but under Rodgers, we've built a team of players with generally good technical ability, mobility, ball retention and quick passing skills, and who're pretty much able to hold their own in tight spaces. This isn't the Houllier team which got shredded by Valencia and were left chasing shadows. We may lose, but I don't think we'll be humiliated in the way you suggested. We might have a fair few put past us, but that's more of the issue that we have in defending. In terms of winning or holding onto the ball, I think we're all right.
