Just retained their Title.. Ranked outsiders at the Start of the day, A victory and a slip up from Chelsea and Birmingham handed them the title..

Yes - City beat Chelsea on the final day to help Liverpool win the league. Doesn't *quite* make up for last season, but nice all the same.

Yeah. Brilliant ! I was following it on Twitter. Liverpool started the day 3rd needing Chelsea to lose and Birmingham not to win. Liverpool, 0-0 at HT went on to win 3-0, Birmingham losing 2-1 came back to draw 2-2 but it was not enough and Chelsea needing a point, were 2-0 to City, got a goal back, City had a woman sent off but Chelsea could not equalise. Liverpool won the title on GD from Chelsea.

Gemma Bonner is probably a better player than quite a few blokes playing in the lower leagues. The women's game still has sides that are uneven in terms of technique, and the keepers are still fairly naff, but there are some genuinely good players now.

Gemma Boner more like (I'll get my misogenist coat). It has always been the laughable 5 foot nothing keepers waving their oversized gloves at the ball as it goes into the top corner that makes women's football so crap. It's just abysmal.

All of this is true, but the overall standard is on a different (and desperately inferior) planet. I'm glad LFC ladies pulled this off but, try as I might, I can't really muster any great interest in the women's game. The way the media are trying to push it is both patronising and embarrassing.

Yes, it is being pushed too much. There's progress, too. It amuses me when some things mirror the men's game - such as what a bunch of bitter little bastards the Everton women are!
