Just reading Peps comments re champions League and Liverpool.

Good.

It made Jose fricking mental that we are who we are. And it's doing the same to Pep.

As much as I may dislike these managers they are passion.
They both had it in buckets with their original clubs, they both came from that same background and it was amazing.
Then they both landed at the plastic clubs for the huge money.

And went to Anfield on European nights and left in tears. Not just the results but they knew their plastic clubs couldn't offer them the same passion.

Jose kept going about it for years even after winning the cup himself.
If we win I think it'll tilt Pep over the edge.

@FoxForceFive and @Atlas - agree and am happy we are (probably along with Spurs this season) on Pep's mind despite his historic treble. I sometimes wonder how that guy even sleeps after his team lose a game.

With regards to the Charity Shield - I don't really give a fuck about that game, and kind of think Klopp should just throw that game by fielding some kids mixed in with a few regulars, so that Man City can feel a little hollow after they win the game. But seriously - with the main European cup finals with just English teams, it feels like the events of history that led to the Ottoman empire. A Turkish tribe kicked forced westwards due to the powerful undefeatable hordes of Timur overwhelming them - with Europe the only way to go.

Watching the FA cup I was really distressed by what I saw, Watford had moments that they utterly fucked up due to bad composure in the final third, but what really gets to me and just fucking baffles the shit out of me is how City are doing it. I mean today they had a midfield of that semi-midfielder Gundogan as a DM, flanked by two not so physical but skillful players in the two Silva's. To me that would be like playing Gini, with two Coutinho types in either side, with our regular front three, which I personally think would be torn apart by a more physically imposing team like Watford. City's defenders were well in the opposition half for most of their attacks, and yet Watford were buried inside. I don't understand how the PL and its teams cannot beat that system regardless of the skill of the opposition - why can't these teams take them on ? We had teams in the 90's that passed the ball very well, but would often get fucked over by some shit team, where are those teams whose physicality can deal with these little trickers in midfield. I just feel lost at the ineptitude of some of these performances by these other teams against City.

I was watching this discussion earlier - found it by accident but the Geordie guy talking makes a lot of sense and I kinda agree with his thoughts. Apologies in advance if you have seen this already.

Rightly or not, when the time comes I suspect this upcoming Community Shield game will be described as having more significance than most, because we and they were (a) so far out in front of the rest last season and (b) so close to one another.

Yep, no way I see either manager taking this as the friendly it is so often regarded as.

I thought that they weren't doing a super cup again til 2021? Heard it on a podcast, or the radio, a few weeks back.

Out of interest...if we lose all three what will you think regarding Klopp ?

Well if we lose the first then there will only be two games and if we lose the CL final to Spurs it will depend on how the games goes.

Charity shield couldn’t really care either way.

My judgement of Klopp will be more based on how we perform in the league next season.

Will be interesting to see how tickets are done for this once a date is announced. I've already started early 'reminders that i'm a liverpool fan' to people I know with Club Wembley.
