Interesting, I thought it was closer to Arnold, and by "thought" I mean I googled it and got:
The name Arne, predominantly used in Scandinavia, has Germanic roots and signifies "eagle". It's believed to be a contracted form of the name Arnold or a shortened version of various Norse names that begin with "arn", also meaning "eagle". In Norse mythology, the eagle was a symbol of strength and wisdom, making the name Arne carry a similar connotation.
More Details:
- Origin: Germanic, specifically from the Old Norse word "ørn" (eagle).
- Meaning: "Eagle" or "strong".
- Historical Context: The name Arne, or its variants like Arnold, has been in use since the early medieval period.
- Variations: In Scandinavia, Arne is a common forename, often combined with other names like Tor-Arne or John-Arne. In Germany, the form Arno is more frequent, says Citizendium.
- Other Meanings: The name Arne can also refer to the central stone in traditional Norwegian homes where the fire was lit, which is also called an "arne," according to The Bump.

I can't see him changing his philosophy as far as the starting team goes, though hopefully with more players he trusts we'll see more substitutions and rotation in cups. After that I'm none the wiser if we'll see more rotation next year. On the one hand he's speaking about the December to March period being relentlessly tough and the PL being extremely competitive and later talks about the research and his philosophy that playing a core team together as much as possible yields increased consistency and results. It'll be interesting to see how it plays out next year.
Controlling the midfield won't come from having someone like Endo. He's a battler, enforcer etc, but his passing and movement to receive the ball into space isn't top tier.Bit confused why slot never starts with bajcetic or endo as a holding in these games. Surely he would want us to control the midfield more than we are doing.
Correct. In pre season.I think Jones had a shocker at six before Grav was tested there. Jones kept pissing around with the ball in dangerous areas.
Yep. Preseason set him back. Slot didn't really want to risk him in the pivot any more and has largely played most of the season as 10 (or odd occasion 8).I think Jones had a shocker at six before Grav was tested there. Jones kept pissing around with the ball in dangerous areas.
How did Klopp not notice that Gravy could do a job in the 6 role?
Did Klopp actually play him as a 6 though? I thought (only remember) him as an 8 and mainly as an advanced LM.In his defence, Grav looked useless and disinterested when we out of possession last year. He only showed any life when we had the ball, which is why he got dropped from 8.
Neither are the hallmarks of a great six. Should have been given a chance, though.

I think there's an argument to add GH to the flag for giving us the unique treble

I'm constantly one out of three of those.Fast technical hungry is exactly what we need.
Well, he’s only the second manager to win us the league in 35 years. That’s already an almighty accomplishment.Seems very premature.

Rafa's biggest accomplishment with us was in his first season. Beyond that first year, he won the FA Cup and the League Cup in 5 years or so.Sure, still premature if you ask me when you line them up and run through each of their resumes.....both on and off the pitch. The man's just walked through the gates, give him some breathing room....don't get what the rush is.

We can compare the different circumstances (Benitez inherited a far inferior side), but Slot's made a tremendous start and etched himself in LFC history with the league title.
Rafa's and Slot's first seasons are similar in that they both won a major trophy and lost in the league cup final.Rafa's biggest accomplishment with us was in his first season. Beyond that first year, he won the FA Cup and the League Cup in 5 years or so.
