I cant see the harm in signing Adam if it were for a knock down fee. Squad depth is something we don't have and If Gerrard and Ming were to get injured next season he would be a good option to call upon. Competition for places in in centre midfield can only be a good thing for us.
I can't make up my mind on this bloke, i've seen him a few times and he's either been utter crap or looked pretty fk'ing tasty.

The point is we shouldnt be looking at 'decent' players because they still cost too much.
I'd even wager that 1 or 2 million added on to the probable cost of both Downing and Adam would get us one Mata or Costa.

Whats wrong with getting a youngish player for 4-5 mill £ that just was one of the top performers in the league for a team that got relegated, and contributed with 12 goals and 10 assists.
Better than most of what we got, and we're trying to build a squad here that can last a full season.
This is exactly the type of player that Kenny will get maximum out of, would a good signing imho.

Granted that Gerrard and Ming will probably be our main stay, that leaves Aquilani (for now),Shelvey,Lucas,Spearing,Maxi and Cole as our midfielders..I like Adam, but when we have no wingers and our LB is either a converted RB or a new kid, talk of Adam is almost reckless.

Poulsen, Aqua and Cole will be sold. Spearing is probably not going to make it, and that leaves us with a very limited midfield. We're screaming out for someone with that type of passing range and his free kicks and corners will add something different aswell.

I don't care how Utd line up, they could line up 11 keepers and that prick could still get them to win games; I'm talking about what's best for us.
Bringing in Adam is also going to depress any monies we could get for Aqua; I just dont see how bringing in Adam is a good idea when we have far far bigger problems elsewhere.

Adam is on the same contract that he had when Blackpool were last in the Championship therefore Blackpool can more than likely still afford to pay him. They may feel that his contribution towards getting promotion is worth more than the potential transfer fee meaning they do have some cards to play.
