Charlie Adam

I don't think he's fitness level is a concern tbh. The whole team just looked knackered, and that was probably because the pitch is shite and they played two days earlier aswell.

But I'm convinced we could get him into even better shape.

He is some player though, I was mightly impressed by his first half.

he's the new huddlestone.

unless we know that we can get him ten times fitter than he is right now, he'll be awful.
That is for me the key area of concern as well.

He looked very good at times last night and especially in the first half he made some wonderful plays. However, the way he tired up torwards the end made him look more a liability than anything else.

Classy on the ball, quick in the mind and very industrious too but also kind of out of shape?
He sure needs to get fitter but I wouldn't be too concerned about this. Last night the whole Blackpool team ran out of gas as the pitch was dire and they had a game on Saturday as well. Adam was involved in everything they did and worked like crazy, even a perfectly fit player would have had trouble keeping it up. For example Meireles was exhausted against Blackpool when he had to do it all in our midfield. Centre midfield just happens to be the most physically demanding position in football especially if you are a standout player like Adam is at Blackpool. At Liverpool besides Stevie and Raul he would have much better support thus making it a bit easier to take.

Fitness isn't a concern, he'll either get fitter or get dropped. Better to worry about lack of fitness than lack of ability

Beggers can't be choosers.

Our squad is a mess, the first team isn't much better.

This shouldn't even be up for debate, snaffle him up on a four year deal. He's young and talented and british so will also maintain value fairly well providing we get a nutritionist on his case.

I feel he is not suited to the pass and move ball on the ground thing he likes to hit the long balls to the wingers 5 million is about right. His corners are worth the extra as sir Alex stated he swings them in handsomely .He will need to adapt to different tactics to blackpool i dont know if he can .

I will be very dissapointed if we don't get Suarez.
I am a bit meh when t comes to the signing of Charlie Adam.
I believe that he will be predominently a squad player and come the start of next season he wont be part of our strongest starting eleven.

He doesnt just spend the game spreading the play, he 'can', like Xabi could, he can also play incisive passes in midfield AND works his arse off. He's a passer, we're trying to become a passing team again.

I'm starting to wonder if any of these nay sayers have actually watched him play.

I'm sure we'll get him fitter, he'll also benefit from competition and not having to play every minute of every game.
I fear the opposite. He could be like Dossena...the lesser he plays, the fatter he will get.

He needs regular football to work out all those fat from eating pies.

obviously not.
his only problem is he likes pies.

mobility - was xabi mobile?

dictating the pace of the game - we've BADLY missed this since xabi moved on.

picking out early, defense splitting passes - if adam is delivering these from deep than gerrard can be further forwards hurting teams.

actually along with fitness it is a worry if he could play in a holding role so we could dispense with lucas' services.

His pass for the "penalty" last night was brilliant
And not just the pass, the whole play ending in that pass was pure sex from Adam.

seriously, how anyone can come to the conclusion we DON'T need the calming influence of adam considering the shambolic mess we've become since the depature of alonso is beyond me.

Take the contract situation and age into consideration.

Lucas is a young, full international for Brazil with a good contract length. We should easily get 2 mill for him!!! 8)

the price is down to how much nesv is prepared to pay, I'm not talking about the price I'm talking about what he would bring to the team.

Lets put it this way, I would offer Blackpool £5m for Adam or £6m & Lucas.

I think anyone expecting him to suddenly become an athlete (or at the very least, very fit) if and when he gets here will be disappointed. He's playing for a Premiership team right now. As such, he should be in peak physical condition and I think it's a disgrace that he isn't. It seems he's got one good half in him, but then his lungs start bursting, the fish supper cravings set it, and it all gets a bit much for him. I like his range of passing, but I find it really difficult to tolerate players at this level who are out of shape.

All that said, I'd still rather we signed him than no one at all.

Smash !!!!

I'd offer 7.5m and be done with it. He's a quality player with a wand of a left foot who'll improve further for the step up in class. And he's Scottish. Brilliant.

Bollocks to all this chubby pie-eater shit. Molby was fat and brilliant.

Adam is the new Molby. He'd be our stocky metronome.
