Blackpool must think we're bonkers though.

We dont want to stump up an extra 3-4 million odd; but we overpaid 3 or 4 times that for Carroll.

Possible, there is an age restriction in that rule. Can't remember.

[edit] For those younger than 28 when they signed their contract, they must be three years into their deal - the 28 and overs can buy it after just two years.
 
Yeah and we will say ok you can have the 10M you want, and they will say 'We want 12M now' like they did before

I didn't mean we should just pay up Sunny. More that should Blackpool relent (or even get closer to the agreed 8m) I think we'll be prepared to put aside justifiable anger and make a deal.

That's only half the story though. We reportedly HAVE agreed to the extra £4 mill.on our original offer, only for their chairman to try and chisel even more out of us at the last minute, and our need for a striker was far more pressing.

Spite? It's not spite. If you agree a price then the other party keeps putting it up you tell them to fuck off.

If a deal is agreed before the deadline don't they call the FA and agree to conclude the transfer first thing next day?

I agree with Buddha things can change very quickly, if Adam kicks off now he might still push it through, or when Blackpool realise we're not budging they might quickly re-think

If a deal is in the works then they get an extra 2 hours past the deadline to complete it.

Yeah. Blackpool thought they were clever but are playing with the big boys now. They'll realise they've blown it and could back track I reckon 😉
