8 of his 12 goals were penalties, and 2 were free kicks. Which makes 2 goals from open play. It's a slightly misleading stat, as he wouldn't be taking penalties here. I'd certainly expect him to take over set piece duties though.
However, I would hope that he's being bought as an attacking option, and not necessarily a starter.
