Post Match Chelsea (A) 3-1 Sunday 4th May 16:30

He had a good game, it's not insane to focus on him, but it is nuts to define someone just by their peaks, and not see the unproductive times. That goes for every player.

Cole Palmer on average hasn't been anything special this season. At his best he's a dangerous player with an eye for goal. He's English though, and has some attacking flair occasionally, so whaAsaarrgarble

19 matches without a goal before today. Not the mark of a top player.

Good our Italian stallion got his 5th appearance.

Nothing else to add
Clearly they were on the piss all week.

Couldn’t care less if we lose our last 3. We are the champions.

Didn't notice him until he did a didi crumple not by choice after a light challenge by the opponent; 4 or 5 chelsea players broke forward decisively while he was frailing his arms. That was embarassing.

Clearly there is something physically wrong with him. It feels like he is just a lump of lard under the jersey.

Not with you on that, this is a gifted player who had a dip in form.

this season:
33 starts 15 goals 10 assists

last:
29 starts 22 goals 13 assists

Questions for Liverpool’s supporting cast

There is rarely an opportunity for champions to show a sentimental side. It is such hard work to win a title over a 38-game season, with the race often going down to the wire. Arne Slot had four matches to spare and used the trip to Stamford Bridge to give first league starts of the season to Wataru Endo and Harvey Elliott. The former has been used frequently as a late sub while the latter is often brought on to make an attacking impact, but the form of their teammates and Elliott’s long-term injury have limited chances under Slot. Jarell Quansah was given a rare start and Federico Chiesa was permitted a fifth league game which qualifies him for a medal. The four have rarely let Liverpool down; no one can blame Quansah for the own goal but he looked understandably rusty and tired when he gave away the penalty. They will have to decide if they want to be bit-part players at a title-winning club or drop down to be key men elsewhere. Will Unwin

It was an inept and a disgraceful performance that not worthy of a champion! Most of the players were awful, apart from Ali, VVD, Endo, and the unlucky Quansah, and it was unfair to point out Elliott and Jones, what about the LFC king Salah! Who was non-existing! As for Bradley who is a complete right defender offensively and defensively and far better than Trent who wants out of LFC, good riddance! Slot needs to learn from many mistakes! We need a proper central forward, the likes of physical French CF of Palace, and Pedro of Brighton because (Salah, Jota, Dias Nunes, and Gakpo) are NOT centre forwards! We must win next Sunday's game!

Why? What if we don't? Genuine question... I'm amazed at your reaction to a match that didn't matter one jot.

I think it's important for our own self respect that we put in a good performance and we play a strong team against Arsenal. We've won the league and they have been our biggest challenger, we should be looking to close out the season on the front foot and not one where Arsenal go away optimistic they have the beating and measure of us. The whole Trent thing should just fuel our desire to show there's reasons to be optimistic going into next season.

I don't get the overreaction to the Chelsea game either, though I am disappointed that we didn't give the midfield help with a regular starter in there, and that the squad players (bar Endo) failed to do themselves any justice. Jones was a disgrace and Szobo equally so when he came on. A half-arsed "we've won it" attitude at this point helps no one moving forward. We should be intent on showing we're worthy winners and we intend to retain it.

I think Slot will point to Hughes and co with the Chelsea loss and demand new signings, esp if he can win against Arsenal with the first team also with nothing to play for

He should not have to do that, the first goal came form Elliot losing the ball high up the field, he should not have to put those players in such a bad situation and lineup to prove they are shit. #SlotOut
